Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsTo replay a festival recording as a YouTube Live broadcast, add the video to OBS Studio as a Media Source, enable Loop, then send OBS’s output to a stream you create in YouTube Studio. The loop happens in OBS; YouTube receives it through the encoder connection. Before broadcasting, make sure you have the rights to rebroadcast both the footage and its music.
Before you start
- Check channel eligibility. YouTube’s general live-streaming guidance says the channel must be verified, must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days, and the streamer must be at least 16. YouTube’s guidance cited here does not confirm whether additional account conditions apply specifically in India. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
- Allow time for activation. YouTube says enabling live streaming for the first time may take up to 24 hours. Set up in advance rather than waiting until the festival broadcast is due to begin. YouTube’s encoder setup guide
- Prepare a local video file. OBS Media Source documents support for formats including MP4, TS, MOV, FLV, MKV, AVI, GIF and WebM. Test the file and its audio before scheduling the stream. OBS Media Sources
- Confirm rebroadcast rights. Having a recording—or the fact that an event was public—does not itself establish permission to stream it again. Rights may cover the video, performances, music and other material separately.
Loop one recording with OBS Media Source
- Create the YouTube stream. In YouTube Studio, open the Live Control Room and create or schedule a stream. Keep the Live Control Room open so you can access the preview and stream settings.
- Add the recording in OBS. In the OBS Sources panel, select + and choose Media Source. Create a source, browse to the festival video file and select it. Enable the source’s Loop option. OBS describes this setting as making the file play again after playback completes. The exact interface may change; consult the current OBS Media Sources guide.
- Check the scene and sound. Confirm the video fits the canvas as intended, then watch the preview and listen for audio. If you use other OBS sources, make sure they do not cover the recording or add unintended audio.
- Connect OBS to YouTube. In YouTube Studio, copy the stream URL and stream key for the stream you created. In OBS, open Settings > Stream, select YouTube if available, and enter the connection details as required. Treat the stream key as a password: do not publish it or share it. YouTube documents the encoder URL-and-key workflow in its encoder setup guide.
- Start early and verify the broadcast. Start streaming from OBS, then check YouTube Studio’s preview and stream health before making the stream public or beginning the scheduled event. YouTube recommends encoder setup at least two hours ahead and starting the encoder at least 15 minutes before the event; confirm that the watch page is accessible and monitor audio and video. See YouTube’s live-streaming tips.
- End the stream deliberately. When the broadcast is over, stop streaming from OBS and end the stream in YouTube Studio as appropriate. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; do not assume a longer broadcast will be archived. YouTube’s encoder setup guide
Use a playlist instead of a single video
For several recordings, OBS’s VLC Video source supports a playlist and has Loop Playlist enabled by default. VLC must be installed. For one local recording, Media Source is the simpler option because its Loop control applies directly to that file. Compare the documented options in the OBS Media Sources guide.
Copyright and India-specific permissions
YouTube says livestream providers are responsible for having the rights needed for worldwide exploitation, including music rights, and for meeting applicable legal and regulatory requirements in the stream territory. Its official material does not establish which permissions apply to a particular Indian festival recording, venue, organizer or set of performances. Do not treat this as a definitive answer on Indian law; check the rights and permissions for your specific recording and broadcast.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content, including another live broadcast. If it identifies such content, it may replace the stream with a placeholder image and warn the creator; if the material remains, YouTube may interrupt or terminate the stream. Even licensed third-party content may interrupt a broadcast unless the owner adds the channel to its Content ID allowlist. Read YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams and its livestream terms and conditions.

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Keep the broadcast reliable
- Check upload capacity. YouTube recommends leaving 20% upload-bandwidth headroom beyond the stream’s total bitrate and checking outbound upload speed rather than relying on download speed. The figure is YouTube’s recommendation, not a guarantee that a connection will remain stable. See YouTube’s streaming tips.
- Monitor the whole setup. Keep an eye on the OBS output and YouTube Studio’s preview and stream health, especially around the start and when the recording loops back to its beginning.
- Plan for long broadcasts. YouTube’s automatic archive statement applies to streams under 12 hours. If you expect to stream longer, plan how you will capture or preserve a copy rather than assuming the live archive will be available.
Troubleshooting
The recording stops instead of looping
Reopen the Media Source properties and confirm Loop is enabled for the selected source. If you are using VLC Video, check Loop Playlist and confirm VLC is installed.
YouTube Studio does not show a signal
Confirm OBS is streaming, the stream URL and key belong to the stream currently open in YouTube Studio, and the key was copied correctly. If live streaming was only just enabled on the channel, YouTube says first-time activation can take up to 24 hours.

The preview has video but no sound
Check that the Media Source is not muted in OBS and that its audio is present in the OBS mixer. Listen to the YouTube preview before the public start so you can catch a problem in the outgoing feed.
The stream stutters or disconnects
Check outbound bandwidth and leave the 20% headroom YouTube recommends beyond the total bitrate. If the connection or encoder is unstable, resolve that before relying on a long broadcast; a preview check and ongoing monitoring can reveal problems before viewers report them.

YouTube interrupts the broadcast
Check for copyright or other third-party content notices in YouTube Studio. A recording can contain music or footage you do not have permission to rebroadcast, and a license alone may not prevent interruption if the rights owner has not allowlisted the channel through Content ID.
