Open Letterboxd’s Year in Review page or check the app when the annual summary appears in early January. To qualify, you need at least 10 films logged in your Diary for the previous year; simply marking films watched or rating them may not count.
How to find your Letterboxd Year in Review
- On the web: Visit letterboxd.com/yir/ and sign in to the account whose activity you want to see.
- In the app: Check Letterboxd when the annual summary becomes available in early January. Members who opted in to email can also receive an alert.
Letterboxd’s Help page, updated September 30, 2026, says it needs at least 10 films logged for the previous year to generate a summary. The release date can vary by edition: the 2025 personal summary was announced for January 2, 2026, US time. That date is not a standing promise for future summaries.
Check that your films are diary logs
The eligibility count is based on films logged in your Diary for the relevant year. A diary log records the date you watched a film. Marking a film “watched” or rating it directly from its film page does not necessarily create a dated Diary entry, so those actions alone may leave you below the threshold.
Open your Diary and check that the films you watched during the year appear with dates in that year. If you have fewer than 10 dated entries, the 2025 Year in Review FAQ describes a way to convert watched-only records into diary logs.

How to add diary dates to watched-only records
For its 2025 edition, Letterboxd advised using an account export to add watched dates to records that lacked Diary entries. The export is a ZIP file containing CSV documents; follow the steps carefully and review the result before confirming an import.
- In Letterboxd, open Settings and request an account export. Download and unzip the resulting archive.
- Find
ratings.csvorwatched.csv, depending on which records you need to update. In the relevant file, change theDatecolumn heading toWatched Dateand enter the dates you watched the films. - Import the adjusted file using Letterboxd’s import workflow. Check the listed titles and entry dates before confirming.
- After import, revisit your Diary and confirm that the dated entries appear in the intended year.
Letterboxd warns that exported dates use New Zealand time. Depending on your time zone, an imported date may shift by a day, so inspect the dates before and after import. An account export can also include deleted content and reviews for deleted films.
Is Letterboxd Pro required?
No. The annual personal Year in Review is not limited to Pro or Patron subscribers: eligible free members can receive it too. Pro and Patron add personalized stats pages available throughout the year, including stats by Diary year and all-time stats. The annual summary is for a single yearly release; year-round stats are an optional paid-tier feature.
Personal Wrapped versus Letterboxd’s community retrospective
Your personal Year in Review summarizes activity on your own account. Letterboxd also publishes a separate annual retrospective with community-level rankings and roundups; it is not a substitute for your personal summary. For scale, the official retrospective reported nearly 700 million ratings cast by members in 2025, with results stated as of January 5, 2026. That is a community figure, not an individual diary count or an eligibility threshold.

Should you use a third-party Wrapped site?
Letterboxd’s own Year in Review page and its account-export guidance are the direct routes to your summary. A third-party site may offer a different presentation, but using it can require uploading account data. One surfaced site called “2025 Wrapped” says “No tracking. No storage.” That is the site’s own claim; it has not been independently verified here. Consider what data the site requests and whether you trust its handling before uploading an export.
