Install the Great American Pure Flix app from your TV or streaming device’s app store, then sign in with the email and password for your membership. Depending on the store, the app may appear as “Pure Flix.” Check your device’s compatibility first: older TVs and some Android boxes may not support the app.
You need an internet connection, access to the device’s app store and an active membership to watch the subscription library. The fastest route is to search the app store on your TV or streaming device for Great American Pure Flix or Pure Flix, install the official app and sign in. Pure Flix’s supported-device list has the latest compatibility details.

These requirements come from the service’s device page, except the Apple TV software requirement, which is listed on the U.S. App Store listing. App availability and store labels can vary by country and may change. “Android TV” does not mean every Android box will work: the device needs Google Play Store access, and a generic or phone-oriented Android device may not show or run the TV app.
Install Pure Flix on your device
Roku or Roku TV
- Press Home on the remote.
- Open Streaming Channels or Search.
- Search for Great American Pure Flix or Pure Flix.
- Select the official channel and choose Add app or Download.
- Open it and sign in with your account email and password.
If you subscribed through Roku, manage billing and the plan through Roku rather than directly through Pure Flix.

Amazon Fire TV, Fire TV Stick or Fire TV Cube
- Press Home, then select Find and Search (on newer interfaces) or the magnifying-glass search option.
- Search for Pure Flix or Great American Pure Flix.
- In Apps & Games, select the official app and choose the download button.
- Open the app and sign in.
Android TV or Google TV
- Press Home, open Apps and launch the Google Play Store.
- Search for Great American Pure Flix or Pure Flix.
- Select the official TV app and choose Install.
- Open it and sign in.
If the app is missing, check that your device runs Android 10.0 or later and has Google Play Store access. A phone or tablet app is not necessarily compatible with an Android TV box.
Samsung Smart TV
- Press Home and open Apps.
- Select the search icon and search for Great American Pure Flix or Pure Flix.
- Select the official app and choose Install. Choose Add to Home if offered.
- Launch the app and sign in.
The current device listing specifies Samsung models from 2020 onward with Tizen 5.0 or later. If your model is near that cutoff, check its app store and software version.
LG Smart TV
- Press Home and select the search icon.
- Search for Great American Pure Flix or Pure Flix.
- Under apps, choose the official app and select Install.
- Open it and sign in.
The listed minimum is webOS 4.0. LG’s menus can differ between webOS versions.

- Press Home and open Apps or the Google Play Store.
- Search for Great American Pure Flix or Pure Flix.
- Select the official Android TV app, choose Install, then open it and sign in.
The supported route requires an Android-enabled TV running Android 10.0 or later with Google Play Store access; not every Sony TV uses Android TV.
Vizio Smart TV
- Go to the TV’s Home screen. If needed, press the remote’s left arrow to open the app area.
- Select Apps, then App Search.
- Search for Great American Pure Flix or Pure Flix.
- Select the official app, install it, then open it and sign in.
The listed compatibility is for 2016 or newer Vizio models using the V-Silicon chipset or later.
Apple TV
- Open the App Store and select Search.
- Search for Pure Flix, select the official app and choose Download.
- Open the app and sign in with your membership email and password.
The U.S. App Store listing currently says the app requires tvOS 16.6 or later. Check the listing for your region and device before relying on an older Apple TV.
Chromecast
- Install and open the Pure Flix app on a compatible phone or tablet.
- Connect the phone or tablet and Chromecast to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Tap the app’s Cast icon and select your Chromecast.
- Choose a title and start playback.
This route uses your mobile device to choose what to watch, rather than a dedicated TV app. If the Chromecast does not appear, see the troubleshooting steps below.

If your TV cannot run the app
You do not necessarily need to replace the television. Add a supported streaming device, such as a Roku or Fire TV, if your TV has an available HDMI port and power outlet. Apple TV is another option, especially if you already use Apple devices, but check the app’s tvOS requirement. If you already have a compatible Chromecast, cast from the mobile app. You can also connect a computer to the TV by HDMI and watch in a supported browser; Pure Flix recommends current Edge or Chrome on Windows, and Safari, Chrome or Firefox on Mac. Its device page says Linux is not directly supported.

A streaming device does not include a Pure Flix membership. If your TV already supports the app, you can install it without buying additional hardware.

The app is not in the store
- Search both Pure Flix and Great American Pure Flix.
- Check your exact TV model and operating-system version against the requirements above.
- Update the TV software, then restart the TV and router.
- Make sure you are searching the TV or streaming device’s own app store, not a phone’s app store.
- Consider regional availability or discontinued app support if the app remains missing.
Choose the official app and confirm the branding and developer before entering your account credentials. Search results may include similarly named services.
The app opens but you cannot sign in or play
- Use the same email address you used to create the membership, and check that the membership is active.
- If you subscribed through Apple, Roku or FrndlyTV, billing and account management may need to go through that provider. FrndlyTV directs subscribers to its own service for account management.
- Try another title to see whether the problem affects one program or all playback.
- Close and reopen the app; update the app and TV software; then restart the TV and router or test another network.
- If the device permits it, remove and reinstall the app.
Pure Flix says a household can stream on up to five different devices, but that statement should not be read as a guarantee of five simultaneous streams under every plan or technical condition. If sign-in fails on one device but works elsewhere, check that the account is not being used beyond its device limit and that the TV app is current.

Casting does not find the Chromecast
Confirm the phone or tablet and Chromecast are on the same Wi-Fi network, update the mobile app, and check that the Chromecast is powered on and visible to other casting apps. A guest network, VPN or Wi-Fi setting that isolates devices can prevent discovery.
For persistent issues, use the Pure Flix support portal, which has device, app, billing and account-management help.
Membership and billing notes
An active membership is required for the subscription library. The official U.S. homepage displayed a Premium plan at $14.99 per month when checked for this article; offers and prices can change, and annual or app-store pricing may differ. Check the live signup page before subscribing. The normal TV setup described in the official installation instructions is to sign in within the app with your email and password. Do not assume every device uses an activation code.
Billing depends on where you signed up: manage a direct membership through Pure Flix, Apple billing through Apple, and Roku billing through Roku. For a membership purchased through FrndlyTV, contact FrndlyTV about account management. Pure Flix says accounts do not have separate profiles.
