You generally cannot fix the original Mobdro service. Mobdro ceased all operations in March 2021, so offline channels and failed streams are not an ordinary outage you can solve by changing Wi-Fi, clearing cache, or using a VPN. ACE announced the shutdown on March 11, 2021.
Why Mobdro is offline
On March 11, 2021, the Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE) and the Premier League announced that Mobdro had ceased operations following an investigation involving Spanish law enforcement and Europol coordination. ACE described the app as providing live television, sports, video-on-demand and other content without authorization. The ACE announcement confirms the cessation of operations; it does not establish every timeline or enforcement detail repeated on APK-download sites.
The original app depended on Mobdro’s service infrastructure and content feeds. An installed app may still open, but that does not mean its backend is functioning. Restarting a router, changing DNS, reinstalling the app, or switching networks cannot restore discontinued servers. If every channel is offline or the catalog is empty across devices, that is consistent with the shutdown rather than a problem unique to your phone.

A local check can rule out a damaged installation, but it cannot bring back Mobdro’s service. If you want to check once, try the following; Android menu names can vary by version and manufacturer:

- Check that another legitimate streaming app works on the same device.
- Open Settings, then Apps or Apps & notifications.
- Select Mobdro and open Storage or Storage & cache.
- Tap Clear cache, then open the app once.
- If it still shows offline or has no streams, stop troubleshooting and uninstall it.
Clearing cache can sometimes help a functioning app with local crashes or corrupted temporary files. It cannot repair a discontinued service. A VPN may change your apparent network location, but it cannot recreate Mobdro’s infrastructure either.
Should you install a “new” Mobdro APK?
No purported “Mobdro 2026,” “official update,” or “working APK” should be treated as proof that the original service has returned. Mobdro was historically distributed outside Google Play, and a website using its name or “official” branding does not establish that it is operated by the original service. Current Mobdro-branded sites make claims about new versions while acknowledging that the original servers went offline; they are not evidence of an official revival. An APK installing successfully only shows that the device accepted the file; it does not show that it connects to the original Mobdro service. Unverified replacements may expose you to malware, intrusive advertising, redirects, credential theft, or requests for unnecessary permissions. That does not mean every APK is infected, but there is no sound reason to disable device security or enter personal or payment details to try one.
Remove Mobdro and check your device
- Do not sign in or enter payment information on a page offering a Mobdro update.
- Uninstall Mobdro, then delete its original APK and any downloaded update files.
- Review recently installed apps and remove unfamiliar companion apps. Check permissions and device-admin access, especially for accessibility, SMS, contacts, storage, and microphone access.
- Run the device’s built-in security scan.
- If you entered account credentials on an unofficial site, change those passwords from a clean device and enable multifactor authentication. Check related email, banking, and streaming accounts for suspicious activity.
- If unexplained pop-ups, redirects, excessive battery use, unknown accessibility services, or other suspicious behavior continues, remove unknown apps and profiles. Consider a factory reset if the behavior persists.
Choose a legal alternative for what you watch
Free services usually rely on advertising, and their catalogs, channels, and availability vary by country and device. They do not necessarily include local stations or premium sports rights. Install them through your device’s official app store where available.

If a replacement app is not working
Troubleshoot the replacement as its own service rather than applying Mobdro fixes. Confirm the app is available in your country and supports your device, install or update it through its official store, and test another title or channel in the same app. Restart the app and device, then check the provider’s own help or status information. If the problem appears tied to your account, contact that provider.
