Windows Errors? Fix Them Before They Spread
Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallCrashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?
Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minute“How do I fix a YouTube lofi radio stream that says no data?” Start by checking the exact, timestamped error in YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room. “No data” is not defined in the YouTube Help pages cited here, so it does not identify one proven cause. Work through the signal path in order: YouTube’s displayed error, stream key and server, encoder output, outbound connection, then the specific ingestion setting YouTube flags.
1. Find the exact error in Live Control Room
Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room or Live Dashboard and look beside the stream-health indicator for the error and its timestamp. YouTube says these checks identify errors in the stream being sent to YouTube; critical errors can prevent an event from starting or affect viewers, while moderate errors may reduce quality. The message and time help distinguish a setup failure from a problem that began later. YouTube’s live-stream error guide
- If the error appears as soon as you start the encoder, check the stream key, server URL, and encoder connection first.
- If the encoder is running but its local picture or sound is wrong, troubleshoot the encoder and its media output.
- If local output looks healthy but YouTube reports problems, examine the outbound connection and the timestamped health message.
- If YouTube names a format or setting, correct that setting rather than changing bitrate at random.
Keep the exact wording and timestamp available while troubleshooting; the informal phrase “no data” alone does not establish whether the problem is transport, encoding, or ingestion.
2. Confirm the stream key and server
For a third-party encoder, open the stream setup in YouTube Live Control Room and confirm that the encoder is sending to the intended YouTube stream URL with the current stream key. YouTube describes stream keys as “like your YouTube stream’s password and address”: they identify where the encoder sends the feed and let YouTube accept it. Manage live stream settings

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- In YouTube Studio, open the live stream’s settings and locate its stream key and server/stream URL.
- In your encoder, compare the selected YouTube destination and key with the current values in Studio. Do not assume an older saved key is still valid.
- If you reset the key in YouTube, replace the saved key in the encoder before trying again.
- Start the encoder and check whether YouTube now receives the feed. If the key or server is rejected, resolve that connection issue before changing video settings.
YouTube’s encoder troubleshooting guidance recommends obtaining the stream key in Live Control Room and updating the encoder with it. Troubleshoot your YouTube live stream
3. Check what the encoder is actually producing
Inspect the encoder’s local preview or output, its own error messages, and CPU load. Update the encoder to its latest available version. If the encoder can save a local recording, review it for missing video, silent or distorted audio, frozen frames, or dropped output. A clean-looking local output is useful evidence, but it does not prove that the feed is reaching YouTube.

- Local picture or sound is broken: correct the encoder’s source and output configuration before testing YouTube again.
- Encoder reports errors or high CPU load: address the encoder problem and check whether its local output stabilizes.
- Local output looks and sounds healthy: shift attention to outbound transmission and the Live Control Room error.
- No local cause is apparent: YouTube’s troubleshooting guidance says trying a different encoder may help isolate the issue.
YouTube’s encoder troubleshooting steps
4. Test the outbound connection
If local encoder output is healthy, test the internet connection and the encoder’s upload bitrate while the stream is running. Monitor the stream-health indicator in YouTube Studio. YouTube recommends testing the connection and contacting your internet service provider if the tests reveal a problem; a healthy preview by itself does not prove the ISP is at fault. YouTube’s encoder settings and connection guidance
- Run an upload-connection test and compare the result with the encoder’s outgoing bitrate.
- Watch YouTube’s stream health around the time the error occurs; note whether the issue is intermittent or continuous.
- If practical, test a more stable connection and check the router and local network before escalating to the ISP.
- Contact the ISP if connection tests point to an upload problem. An Ethernet cable is worth considering only if testing isolates a local wireless-network bottleneck; it is not a universal fix.
5. Correct the specific format or ingestion error
YouTube’s error guide lists media and configuration causes including unsupported format or codec, incorrect bitrate, audio sample rate, missing or multiple audio/video streams, unsupported channel count, resolution mismatch, and keyframe-frequency problems. Use the actual Live Control Room message to identify which setting to inspect. A bitrate change cannot fix a wrong stream key, unsupported codec, or missing audio stream.

| YouTube flags | What to inspect |
|---|---|
| Unsupported format or codec | Use a format and codec supported by YouTube’s encoder guidance for the protocol you selected. |
| Incorrect bitrate | Compare the encoder’s configured output bitrate with YouTube’s settings guidance for the selected resolution and protocol. |
| Audio sample rate or channel count | Check the encoder’s audio output settings and the channel count YouTube accepts. |
| Missing or multiple audio/video streams | Verify that the intended audio and video are present and that the encoder is not sending an unsupported number of streams. |
| Resolution mismatch | Make the encoder’s output resolution consistent with the stream configuration and YouTube’s guidance. |
| Keyframe-frequency issue | Check the encoder’s keyframe interval against YouTube’s recommendation for the frame rate. |
YouTube recommends 128 Kbps for stereo audio in its relevant live-stream guidance. Its keyframe guidance calls for a keyframe every 2 seconds and ties the frequency to frame rate—for example, at 30 fps, every 60 frames. Treat these as YouTube configuration recommendations, not guarantees that every stream will work. Check the applicable error guidance alongside the encoder settings guidance for your chosen protocol and resolution.
6. Troubleshoot by where the signal fails
| What you observe | Most useful next check |
|---|---|
| Encoder cannot start, or YouTube rejects its connection | Verify the YouTube server/stream URL and current stream key. |
| Encoder runs, but its local output is unhealthy | Inspect encoder errors, CPU load, sources, and any local recording. |
| Local output is healthy, but YouTube reports a weak or missing feed | Test upload connectivity and monitor stream health at the reported timestamp. |
| Live Control Room identifies a media-setting error | Change the named format, bitrate, audio, resolution, or keyframe setting. |
