To cancel a scheduled YouTube livestream in the mobile app, open Create > Live > Calendar, select the scheduled stream, and tap the delete button. If you still cannot schedule or start a livestream afterward, cancellation has not restored access: check your channel permissions, verification, and live-stream restriction status separately.
Cancel the scheduled stream in the YouTube mobile app
- Open the YouTube app on your phone or tablet.
- Tap Create, then Live.
- Tap the calendar and select the upcoming livestream you want to cancel.
- Tap the delete button to remove the scheduled event. YouTube’s instructions describe this action for scheduled streams; it is not the same as deleting a replay of a completed livestream. See YouTube’s mobile live-stream instructions.
Find an upcoming stream in YouTube Studio on desktop
In YouTube Studio, go to Content > Live to find current, upcoming, and past streams. Live Control Room also provides scheduled-stream management. The cited YouTube guidance identifies these areas but does not establish an exact desktop deletion sequence, so use the controls shown for the selected upcoming stream in your current account rather than assuming the mobile steps apply unchanged. If you cannot delete the scheduled stream
The delete control can depend on your channel role. YouTube says Managers can manage live streams. Editors can manage streams but cannot delete scheduled, live, or completed streams; Viewers cannot manage or delete them. If the control is unavailable, ask a channel owner or Manager to handle the cancellation, or review the permissions assigned to your account. See YouTube channel permissions.
Why scheduling access may still be unavailable
Deleting an upcoming event does not reset live-stream eligibility, remove a policy restriction, or change channel permissions. YouTube’s current Help guidance says a channel must be verified and have no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days to livestream. Check channel verification and account status if scheduling or going live remains unavailable after cancellation. The 90-day period is YouTube’s eligibility rule, not a guarantee that access will return as soon as a particular date passes. See YouTube’s live-stream eligibility guidance.

What happens to viewers who set reminders?
YouTube lets viewers see upcoming streams and opt into reminders, but the cited guidance does not specify exactly what notification viewers receive when a scheduled stream is deleted. Do not assume cancellation sends a particular alert; if the event is important to your audience, communicate the change through a channel update or another method you control.
