One free scan finds every outdated or missing driver and matches the right update for your exact hardware.Free scan · exact hardware matchTo build a continuous lofi radio stream on YouTube, assemble music and visuals you have permission to livestream, connect a looping playback workflow to YouTube Live, then test the playlist’s transitions and wraparound before going public. You can run the encoder on your own computer or use a hosted service; either way, rights clearance and a plan for long-stream archives are essential.
1. Check channel eligibility and clear every track
YouTube’s current live-stream guidance requires a verified channel, no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days, and a streamer who is at least 16. Check the current requirements in YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance before scheduling a broadcast.
Before building the playlist, make a rights ledger for every music track and visual. Record the creator or rightsholder, the permission or license, territories covered, whether continuous live transmission and archived replay are allowed, whether monetization is permitted, and any attribution requirement. These are questions to verify against each specific license, not universal license terms. YouTube’s livestream terms make the broadcaster responsible for having all necessary rights, including music rights.
Do not rely on a track being described as “free” or “licensed” as proof that it will play uninterrupted. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content; it may interrupt or terminate a stream when it detects a match. If you have a license, ask the rightsholder whether they can allowlist your channel through Content ID before launch. Keep written permission and a contact route available. See YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
2. Build and test the playlist and visual
Arrange tracks for a deliberate listening flow
Put tracks in the order you want listeners to hear them, then listen through the transitions and the point where the last track returns to the first. Adjust fades, track order, or source edits to make changes in volume and mood intentional. Do not assume playback is gapless: test the specific player or service you plan to use.
Choose a visual that can run for the whole broadcast
Pair the audio with a still image or a short animation designed to loop. Confirm you have the necessary rights to the visual as well as the music, and watch the animation’s loop seam. A simple still image avoids a visual loop seam, but it does not remove the need to clear the image for the planned livestream and replay.

3. Choose how to keep the broadcast running
Run an encoder yourself
A self-managed encoder gives you direct control over playback and the broadcast, but the computer or server, playback process, and internet connection need to remain available for the planned run. YouTube’s encoder workflow supports entering a stream URL and stream key in the encoder; its general guidance includes OBS among encoder options. Use the YouTube preset supported by your encoder unless you have a specific reason to configure an ingestion protocol yourself. See YouTube’s encoder setup guide.
Use a hosted continuous-stream service
A hosted service can keep playback running in the cloud rather than depending on a computer at home. Check the provider’s current details for playlist editing, restart behavior, credentials, service limits, and cost. Hosting does not remove your responsibility to obtain music and visual rights or guarantee that YouTube will accept a stream.

StreamNeo’s guide to starting a 24/7 lofi radio station on YouTube covers this use case. StreamNeo keeps uploaded videos playing to YouTube from the cloud, so a personal computer does not have to stay on.
4. Connect the workflow to YouTube Live
- Create the broadcast: In YouTube Studio, create or schedule a live stream and retrieve its stream URL and stream key. Treat the key as a password: do not publish it or share it with anyone who does not need access.
- Configure the encoder: In your encoder’s YouTube or RTMP settings, enter the stream URL and key. Select the intended audio and video sources, and confirm the playlist and visual are set to repeat for the planned duration.
- Start sending the signal: Start the encoder or hosted workflow and wait for the incoming signal to appear in YouTube Live Control Room.
- Inspect the preview: Before making the broadcast public, check the preview for the expected image and audio. Listen for silence, abrupt level changes, transitions that cut off, or a noticeable gap at the playlist wraparound.
- Run an unlisted test: Let the test run long enough to hear at least one full playlist cycle. Check that the visual behaves as intended and audio remains present and consistent. Then review the live dashboard and, after launch, open the channel’s watch page on another device.
These checks catch production problems; they do not guarantee uninterrupted uptime or copyright clearance. YouTube also supports HLS ingestion for suitable encoders, but direct HLS setup has particular requirements: segments must be 1–4 seconds, use TS format, and use a rolling playlist with no more than five outstanding segments. HLS has higher latency than RTMP. Most creators should use their encoder’s supported YouTube preset rather than configure HLS directly. Details are in YouTube’s HLS setup guide.

5. Plan for failures, maintenance, and the archive
For an extended broadcast, decide how you will respond to a computer or playback crash, a network or power failure, or a YouTube disconnect. Consider restart behavior and alerts, keep the stream key private, and monitor audio and video during the broadcast. YouTube’s encoder guidance recommends previewing the signal, checking local archive files, and monitoring stream quality.
Plan separately for a replay. YouTube says a stream shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, but a stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. It recommends keeping a local archive backup. DVR rewind may also be limited or unavailable on streams longer than 12 hours. Consult YouTube’s archive guidance and DVR guidance for current details.

If a complete replay matters, record locally and verify the recording is being saved. Optional external storage can hold a backup; it is not required to broadcast. You can also divide a continuous schedule into shorter broadcasts, but each segment becomes a separate live event and splitting does not guarantee uninterrupted playback.
