How to Add a Static Temple Image to a 24/7 Bhajan Stream

Add a still temple image to an OBS scene, route bhajan audio into the mixer, connect to YouTube Live and rehearse the full broadcast before going public.

To show one temple picture while bhajans play, add the image as a source in an OBS scene, route the devotional audio into OBS, and send the scene to YouTube Live with an encoder stream key. The picture is only the visual layer: for a local 24/7 broadcast, the computer, OBS, audio source and internet connection must keep running. Before making the stream public, rehearse the complete setup and check that you have permission to broadcast both the image and the recordings.

Prepare the temple image and audio

Choose and frame the image

Use a clear landscape image that suits the output canvas. Keep important lettering or details away from the edges, where mobile layouts or other overlays may obscure them. The reviewed OBS and YouTube guidance does not prescribe a special temple-photo resolution or file format. Choose an image file OBS can open, and use artwork or a photograph you are allowed to broadcast.

Decide whether the image should fill the whole frame or retain its original proportions with space around it. Filling the frame can crop the edges; preserving the full image can leave borders. Avoid stretching it out of proportion.

Choose the bhajan audio source

Identify how the audio will reach OBS: for example, playback from the computer or another audio input routed into the encoder. Prepare the intended playlist or recording and test the actual playback path. A visible audio meter in OBS is a useful check that sound is reaching the mixer, but it does not prove that viewers can hear it; monitor the test stream as well.

Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Build the scene in OBS

  1. Create a scene. In OBS Studio, create a scene for the bhajan broadcast. OBS’s documentation describes scenes and media sources; its knowledge base also links to a dedicated Image Sources guide. Labels and menus may differ by installed OBS version, so check the current interface rather than relying on a particular menu path.
  2. Add the temple image. Add an image source to the scene and select the file. Arrange or transform it to cover the output canvas as intended. Inspect the preview for unintended borders, cropping or distortion.
  3. Add or route the audio. Add the audio source or route the playback device into OBS. Start the bhajan playback and confirm that the appropriate mixer meter responds. Listen for clipping, silence or an unintended second audio source.
  4. Check the complete scene. Confirm the still image is visible, the audio is present, and no unwanted desktop, camera or other source appears. OBS explains media-source behavior in its Media Sources guide.

Connect OBS to YouTube Live

  1. Enable live streaming if needed. If the channel has never streamed, YouTube says first-time live-stream enablement may take up to 24 hours. Complete this before the planned launch, not at the last minute.
  2. Create a stream in YouTube Studio. Open the Live Control Room and create or select the stream. YouTube’s encoder setup guide describes copying the server URL and stream key into the encoder.
  3. Enter the connection details in OBS. Use YouTube’s provided server details and stream key in OBS’s streaming settings. Treat the stream key like a password: do not publish it, show it in a screen recording, or share it with people who should not control the broadcast.
  4. Start the encoder and inspect YouTube’s incoming preview. Confirm the image and audio arrive correctly before starting the public broadcast. Follow YouTube’s current Live Control Room controls for the stream you created.

Set and test the stream quality

Choose resolution and frame rate to suit the source and your available upload capacity. A static picture does not need motion detail, but the audio still needs to remain continuous and clean. YouTube’s published recommendations for H.264 live ingest include the following figures; they are platform guidance, not a guarantee that a particular internet connection will sustain them.

Output YouTube-recommended H.264 bitrate
1080p at 30 fps 5 Mbps
720p at 30 fps 3 Mbps

Use YouTube’s current encoder settings, bitrates and resolutions guidance when selecting settings beyond these examples. YouTube recommends RTMPS. Test the upload bitrate and monitor stream health; a listed bitrate recommendation is not a substitute for checking the real connection under the planned conditions.

  1. Make a private or unlisted rehearsal with the same image, bhajan playback and settings you intend to use.
  2. Check the YouTube preview and stream-health indicators, and listen on a separate device if possible.
  3. Confirm the audio remains audible through track changes and that the image has no unwanted gaps or transitions.
  4. Use YouTube’s advice to test before going live; its encoder guidance recommends a test with audio and movement similar to the planned stream. For a still-image broadcast, test the actual audio and any scene changes you expect to use.

Plan for genuinely continuous operation

With OBS running locally, the computer, encoder process, audio playback and internet connection all need to remain available. Decide who will notice a stalled audio source or dropped connection and how they will restore the stream. YouTube’s encoder documentation also describes cloud services for continuous prerecorded-video streaming and hardware that can schedule media playout; these are alternatives to a dedicated local computer, not requirements for adding a still image. The documentation does not establish comparative cost or reliability for those options.

For a 24/7 schedule, plan separately for the live feed and its archive. YouTube says encoder streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not assume one archive will capture an entire day-long continuous stream; consult YouTube’s current stream-management guidance and plan how you will handle the duration and recordings.

Check image and music rights before broadcasting

Make sure you have permission to use both the temple image and every bhajan recording or performance. A devotional purpose does not itself grant broadcast rights. YouTube says live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content. A match can result in a placeholder replacing the broadcast, an interruption, or termination. Even if you have a licence, the rights holder may need to allowlist your channel through Content ID to prevent a licensed live stream from being interrupted. Read YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams and resolve any necessary permissions or allowlisting before launch.
