Billie Eilish and Finneas endorsed Kamala Harris and Tim Walz on September 17, 2024; Nicky Jam first backed Donald Trump, then withdrew that endorsement on October 30. Other prominent public supporters included Taylor Swift, Beyoncé and Bruce Springsteen for Harris, and Elon Musk, Dave Portnoy and Dennis Quaid for Trump. These are examples from a changing campaign-period landscape, not a definitive ranking: public endorsements, rally appearances and other forms of support were not the same thing.
Who endorsed Harris and Walz?
Billie Eilish and her brother, musician Finneas, endorsed the Harris-Walz ticket in a social media video posted on September 17, 2024, which coverage identified as National Voter Registration Day. They urged people to vote and raised concerns about freedoms and the country’s future. Axios reported on the video and endorsement.
Other prominent people reported as Harris supporters included Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Bruce Springsteen, John Legend, Oprah Winfrey, Mark Cuban and Viola Davis. The form of support varied: some made public statements or posted on social media, while others took part in campaign events. A name on a supporter list does not, by itself, mean that person appeared at a rally or worked for the campaign. NY1’s roundup and The Guardian’s comparative coverage provide examples, not an exhaustive or ranked list.
Who supported Trump, and what changed?
Prominent figures reported as Trump supporters included Elon Musk, Dave Portnoy, Dennis Quaid, Roseanne Barr and Jon Voight. Nicky Jam also initially supported Trump and appeared at a Trump rally. These examples encompass different kinds of public support, rather than a single standardized endorsement or campaign role. NY1’s October roundup describes supporters on both sides.

Nicky Jam’s endorsement was withdrawn
Jam’s support did not remain in place through Election Day. He had said he believed Trump would be better for the economy. On October 30, after comedian Tony Hinchcliffe made a disparaging remark about Puerto Rico at a Trump rally, Jam publicly withdrew his endorsement and said he would step away from the political situation. The Associated Press reported the withdrawal and recounted Jam’s explanation for his initial support: AP coverage of Nicky Jam’s withdrawal.
What counts as a celebrity endorsement?
Coverage of the 2024 campaign used broad supporter lists, but the underlying actions differed. A public endorsement or supportive post is not interchangeable with appearing at a rally, performing at an event, authorizing use of a song, or taking a campaign job. For example, TIME distinguished celebrities who joined the campaign trail from the larger group of public supporters. Lists also changed as the campaign continued, which is why Jam’s later withdrawal matters when describing his status.
