- The sequel separates named characters from a huge guest roster of professional golfers, athletes, sports broadcasters, musicians, podcasters, comedians, and actors.
- Happy Gilmore 2 debuted on Netflix on July 25, 2025, and Netflix lists the film at 1 hour 58 minutes with offline downloads available.

Who is in Happy Gilmore 2?
Happy Gilmore 2 stars Adam Sandler as Happy Gilmore, Julie Bowen as Virginia Venit, Christopher McDonald as Shooter McGavin, and Ben Stiller as Hal L. The Netflix sequel also gives Bad Bunny a substantial role as Oscar Mejías, Happy’s inexperienced new caddy, alongside returning performers and an unusually extensive celebrity golf roster.
Netflix describes the film as a continuation of the 1996 comedy nearly 30 years after the original. Happy is rusty after decades away from competitive golf, works at a grocery store, and tries to support his children and his daughter Vienna’s ballet ambitions. The official Netflix Tudum cast guide divides the participants into returning characters, named supporting roles, professional golfers, other sports personalities, podcasters, and musicians—a useful distinction because not everyone on the list has an equally large part.

Which original cast members return in Happy Gilmore 2?
| Performer | Character or appearance | What the returning player does |
|---|---|---|
| Adam Sandler | Happy Gilmore | The hockey player turned golfer returns as the central character, attempting a comeback after 30 years away from competitive golf. |
| Julie Bowen | Virginia Venit | Happy’s wife remains an important influence on his golfing comeback; Virginia was the tour’s public-relations head in the original film. |
| Christopher McDonald | Shooter McGavin | Happy’s arrogant golf nemesis returns as the sequel’s familiar villainous rival. |
| Ben Stiller | Hal L. | The abusive orderly from the first film returns in a different setting. |
| Blake Clark | Beach Man | Clark is identified by Netflix as a returning or familiar Happy Gilmore participant, with Tudum listing the role as Beach Man. |
The core reunion is therefore Sandler, Bowen, McDonald, and Stiller—not simply a collection of disconnected cameos. The returning characters give the sequel its direct franchise continuity, while the new players expand Happy’s story and the celebrity appearances supply the golf-world spectacle.
Who plays the new characters in Happy Gilmore 2?
Bad Bunny plays Oscar Mejías, while Lavell Crawford, Benny Safdie, and Margaret Qualley are among the performers taking on new named supporting roles. Netflix’s cast guide identifies the following story characters:
| Performer | Character | Role in the sequel |
|---|---|---|
| Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, known as Bad Bunny | Oscar Mejías | Happy’s busboy-turned-caddy. Oscar is enthusiastic but inexperienced with golf’s unwritten rules. |
| Lavell Crawford | Slim | The son of Happy’s former mentor Chubbs, who offers Happy golf advice. Slim’s prosthetic hand creates a thematic connection to Chubbs. |
| Benny Safdie | Frank Manatee | A named supporting character in the sequel. |
| Margaret Qualley | Sally | A named supporting character listed in Netflix’s cast guide. |
| Steve Buscemi | Bad Neighbor Pat | A named supporting role. |
| Eric André | Steiner | A named supporting role. |
| Guy Fieri | Maxi Starter | A named supporting role. |
| Kevin Nealon | Nealon | A named supporting role. |
| Nick Swardson | Ben Daggett | A named supporting role. |
| Haley Joel Osment | Billy Jenkins | A named supporting role. |
| Jackie Sandler | Monica | A named supporting role. |
The most important distinction is Bad Bunny’s: Oscar is part of the film’s central golfing setup, not merely a blink-and-miss appearance. Oscar becomes Happy’s caddy despite not understanding golf’s etiquette, which creates a direct story partnership between the two characters.

| Group | Golfers listed by Netflix |
|---|---|
| Current and recent stars | Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, Brooks Koepka, Bryson DeChambeau, Justin Thomas, Will Zalatoris, Collin Morikawa, Jordan Spieth, Keegan Bradley, Rickie Fowler, Xander Schauffele, Nelly Korda, Wyndham Clark, Tony Finau, and Charles Howell III. |
| Major champions and established professionals | Jack Nicklaus, Lee Trevino, Fred Couples, Corey Pavin, David Duval, Colin Montgomerie, Bubba Watson, Retief Goosen, Jim Furyk, and Sir Nick Faldo. |
| Women’s golf and golf media | Paige Spiranac, Charley Hull, Nancy Lopez, and Annabel Angel. |
The list mixes active competitors, legends, and golf personalities. Jack Nicklaus, Lee Trevino, Nancy Lopez, and Sir Nick Faldo represent earlier generations, while Scheffler, McIlroy, Koepka, DeChambeau, Korda, and other current players connect the comedy to contemporary professional golf.
What other athletes and sports personalities appear?
The non-golfer sports group includes athletes, broadcasters, analysts, and sports-media personalities. The cast guide lists Reggie Bush, Becky Lynch, Dan Patrick, Nikki Garcia, Boban Marjanović, Chris Chelios, Sean Avery, Stephen A. Smith, Chris Berman, Jim Gray, Verne Lundquist, Kelsey Plum, and Chris Titone.
These appearances should not be confused with the professional-golfer list. Football, wrestling, basketball, hockey, and sports broadcasting are represented separately, reinforcing that the sequel’s guest roster extends well beyond the golf course.
Which musicians, podcasters, and celebrity actors are in the movie?
The musician appearances include Cam’ron, Scott Mescudi—better known as Kid Cudi—Marshall Mathers, known as Eminem, and Post Malone. The podcaster group includes Alix Earle, Bobby Lee, and Sean Evans of Hot Ones.

Other high-profile appearances include Travis Kelce as the waiter, as well as Steve Buscemi, Eric André, Margaret Qualley, Haley Joel Osment, Guy Fieri, and Benny Safdie in named or franchise-connected roles. Travis Kelce’s listing is especially easy to misread: the Netflix guide identifies him as the waiter, while many celebrity golfers are presented as themselves.
Director Kyle Newacheck explained the breadth of the guest list to Netflix Tudum: “A lot of these guys, the golfers and people who are near and dear to Adam Sandler and the movie, they all wanted to come and say hi and play and be a part of it and contribute to the second one.”
How is the Happy Gilmore 2 cast organized?
The cast is easiest to understand by separating franchise characters, new story characters, and self-appearances. This prevents a professional golfer listed by name from being presented as though the golfer has a major fictional role.
| Cast category | Examples | Character or self? |
|---|---|---|
| Returning franchise leads | Adam Sandler, Julie Bowen, Christopher McDonald, Ben Stiller | They reprise recognizable fictional characters. |
| New named story roles | Bad Bunny, Lavell Crawford, Benny Safdie, Margaret Qualley | They play characters such as Oscar Mejías, Slim, Frank Manatee, and Sally. |
| Professional golfers | Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, Nelly Korda, Jack Nicklaus | Netflix’s guide largely presents this group as golf-world appearances rather than named fictional roles. |
| Other sports personalities | Reggie Bush, Becky Lynch, Kelsey Plum, Chris Chelios | They are part of the wider sports guest roster. |
| Musicians and podcasters | Eminem, Kid Cudi, Post Malone, Sean Evans | Celebrity appearances, with the guide distinguishing them from the main story cast. |

Why does the sequel’s guest roster matter?
The guest roster is part of the sequel’s identity, but the returning leads and named new characters remain the answer to “Who is in Happy Gilmore 2?” Sandler, Bowen, McDonald, and Stiller provide the recognizable franchise spine; Bad Bunny’s Oscar gives Happy a new story partner; and the professional golfers and other celebrities turn the golf setting into a large ensemble event.
The production and audience response also indicate the scale of the release. According to About Netflix in 2025, Happy Gilmore 2 recorded 46.7 million global views during its opening period and was described as Netflix’s biggest U.S. opening weekend for a Netflix film at that point. That figure measures Netflix viewing performance, not the size of any individual cast member’s role.
