What happens at the end of Ginny & Georgia Season 3?
At Georgia’s trial, Austin takes the stand. Georgia expects him to say he did not see Tom’s murder. Instead, he says he witnessed it and implicates Gil. The jury finds Georgia not guilty, according to TVLine’s finale account.
The testimony is not an independent decision: Ginny has engineered the reversal, including pressuring Cynthia and persuading Austin to choose a parent. Georgia is released from the immediate threat of prison, but the rescue depends on coercion and a lie about who killed Tom.
Why did Ginny lie to save Georgia?
Ginny believes she may lose her mother and uses manipulation to protect her. That choice marks a turn in their relationship: Ginny is no longer only carrying Georgia’s secrets; she is using the same tools Georgia has used to control dangerous situations.

Creator Sarah Lampert told Netflix Tudum that “We had to break Georgia.” Antonia Gentry, who plays Ginny, described the shift this way: “Ginny is fully turning into Georgia by the end of the season.” Brianne Howey, who plays Georgia, put the reversal more briefly in TheWrap’s interview: “They fully turn into each other.” These are descriptions of a dynamic, not a claim that mother and daughter have become identical.
What does Austin’s testimony cost him?
Austin’s testimony frames Gil for a murder he did not commit. His choice may also remove an abusive father from his life, but it is not morally simple: the account still leaves Austin carrying guilt over the lie. The interviews describe his mental health and that burden as concerns that continue beyond the trial.

Georgia’s relief at being acquitted is complicated by what she sees in her children. Lampert and showrunner Sarah Glinski connect Ginny and Austin’s actions to the behavior they have watched from their mother. Howey said seeing the children recreate Georgia’s behavior pushes Georgia toward therapy and an effort to break the cycle. Glinski said the burden on Ginny and Austin carries into the next season.
Is Georgia pregnant, and who is the father?
The finale strongly hints that Georgia is pregnant. She drinks milk straight from the bottle, and Ginny asks whether she is doing that because she is pregnant. Georgia has recently been intimate with both Paul and Joe, so the scene leaves the father uncertain to viewers.

The creative team says the answer has been chosen, but the cited post-finale interviews do not disclose it. Lampert told TVLine: “OK, we know whose baby it is. Change our mind.” She described a full day of debate in the writers’ room before they settled on the paternity. Until the show reveals it, neither Paul nor Joe should be treated as confirmed.

Georgia receives a call from her father in prison. He warns that if he could find her, her mother and stepfather could find her too. In TheWrap’s interviews, Lampert and Glinski framed Season 4 around “origins and cycles,” a theme that fits both Georgia’s family history and the question of whether Ginny and Austin will repeat or break what they have learned.
