Fast N’ Loud ended in 2020, but Gas Monkey Garage did not disappear with it. Richard Rawlings’ Dallas operation still sells merchandise, runs tours and giveaways, and publishes new vehicle content. The more complicated question is what happened to the people viewers associated with the shop.
As of August 9, 2026, only some of those former television personalities have clearly documented current roles. Aaron Kaufman is running his own fabrication business, while Mike Coy remains connected to recent Gas Monkey media. For several others, online “current crew” lists go further than the available evidence allows.
Richard Rawlings is still running Gas Monkey Garage
Richard Rawlings remains the owner and public face of Gas Monkey Garage. The shop’s listed address is 2330 Merrell Road, Dallas, Texas 75229, with public hours listed as Monday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The business now operates less like a television set and more like a branded automotive company. Its official website promotes merchandise, memberships, giveaways, tours, and company-produced videos. Recent videos have included an 800-plus-horsepower supercharged single-cab F-150, a 6×6 Humvee, vehicle-buying trips, and Rawlings’ continuing searches for interesting cars.

Visitors can also book tours advertised for Mondays and Fridays at noon. The instructions tell guests to meet at the retail store and arrive 10 to 15 minutes early. That is a useful distinction from the old television image of a constantly filmed working garage: the current public experience is organized around scheduled visits and the Gas Monkey brand.
Rawlings is also identified as the founder of Gas Monkey Icehouse at Grandscape in The Colony, Texas. Gas Monkey’s promotional business has expanded beyond custom builds into hospitality, apparel, online video, and prize campaigns. One current promotion advertises a 2026 Dodge Hellcat Durango and a 2026 Harley-Davidson Low Rider S, with closing dates of August 10 and August 11, 2026.
Aaron Kaufman left years ago and built Arclight Fabrication
Aaron Kaufman is not a current Gas Monkey Garage employee. His departure happened in 2016, and he subsequently opened Arclight Fabrication in Dallas. The business specializes in aftermarket components, particularly for Ford F-100 trucks, and its website carries a 2019–2026 copyright.
Kaufman’s career after Fast N’ Loud has remained centered on fabrication, engineering, and performance vehicles rather than reality-TV celebrity. His later programs included Shifting Gears with Aaron Kaufman and Aaron Needs a Job; neither was a continuation of a current Gas Monkey series.

A March 2026 MagnaFlow interview also places Kaufman firmly in his own automotive projects. The discussion covers Arclight, Stadium Super Trucks, and the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. In other words, the former Gas Monkey builder is still active, but he is operating under his own name and business—not returning to Rawlings’ shop.
Mike Coy is still visible in Gas Monkey content
Mike Coy is the former show crew member with the clearest recent connection to Gas Monkey media. Discovery described him as Gas Monkey’s master paint and body technician and noted that he originally joined Rawlings to paint two Pontiac Firebirds before staying with the operation.
The official Gas Monkey Garage YouTube channel published Work Hacks W/ Mike Coy on February 10, 2025. That confirms that Coy was still publicly participating in Gas Monkey content at that point. It does not, however, establish a complete employment record for August 2026 or prove that he works full-time at the Dallas shop.
That distinction matters. A person can appear in a company video, contribute to a project, or remain associated with the brand without being part of a permanent employee roster. The available evidence supports calling Coy a recent Gas Monkey contributor, not confidently naming him as part of a fully documented current crew.

Jason Aker moved into other restoration work
Jason Aker was a recurring Fast N’ Loud mechanic and shop foreman, known especially for restorations and muscle cars. A 2024 report said he had worked with Barrett-Jackson’s restoration division and later partnered with Tommy O’Brien Jr. on Four on the Floor, a Dallas-area restoration business heavily focused on classic Shelby Mustangs.
There is no current official Gas Monkey roster showing that Aker has returned to the shop. His restoration work is a continuation of the skills viewers saw on television, but it should not be confused with current employment at Gas Monkey Garage.
What is known about Kennan “Keke” Hons?
Kennan “Keke” Hons appeared on the show after returning to Gas Monkey, where he was presented as someone coming back to build cars. A contemporaneous account noted that he recognized many people at the shop but also encountered new faces.
That establishes a historical connection, not a confirmed current position. No reliable current source located for this update verifies that Hons remains on Gas Monkey’s payroll in August 2026. He is therefore best described as a former or returning television-era member whose present role is unclear.

Sue Martin appeared on Fast N’ Loud as an auto upholsterer and business owner and is associated with ASM Upholstery. Her appearance on the program does not make her part of a currently documented Gas Monkey staff.
Names such as K.C. Mathieu, Jeremy Cheatham, Tom Smith, Scot McMillan, Daphne Kaminski, and others remain part of the show’s historical cast and wider Gas Monkey story. But historical cast listings are not current company directories. Without a recent first-party statement, it is not responsible to claim that these people still work at the garage.
The same caution applies to online articles that label Jason Aker, Mike Coy, Kennan Hons, Tony Cano, Jeremy Cheatham, John Freeman, Jon Rodriguez, Russell J. Holmes, and Chad Isbell as the “current team.” That kind of list may reflect public appearances or an author’s compilation, but it does not provide official employment records. It should be treated as unconfirmed.

Fast N’ Loud ended after its final broadcast season in 2020. Richard Rawlings confirmed the end of the show in December 2020. Gas Monkey Garage itself remained open, but the end of the Discovery production changed how the company and its employees appeared in public.

During the show’s run, viewers saw a deliberately selected group of mechanics, fabricators, painters, upholsterers, and managers every week. After the series ended, some people went to independent shops, some appeared in occasional automotive media, and others simply stopped receiving regular public coverage. That makes it easy for old cast lists to be mistaken for a current staff directory.
The safest summary is therefore:
| Person | What can be documented now | What cannot be confirmed |
|---|---|---|
| Richard Rawlings | Owner and public face of Gas Monkey Garage; involved in current brand operations | — |
| Aaron Kaufman | Runs Arclight Fabrication and continues automotive and motorsports work | That he returned to Gas Monkey |
| Mike Coy | Appeared in official Gas Monkey content as recently as February 2025 | A full-time August 2026 employment status |
| Jason Aker | Reportedly involved with Four on the Floor and earlier Barrett-Jackson restoration work | That he is back at Gas Monkey |
| Kennan “Keke” Hons | Historically returned to Gas Monkey during the show | That he remains on the payroll |
| Sue Martin and other former cast members | Associated with the show or independent automotive businesses | A current Gas Monkey role without a recent first-party confirmation |
FAQ
Is Gas Monkey Garage still open?
Yes. The Dallas garage remains active, and the official site lists its address as 2330 Merrell Road, Dallas, Texas 75229. It also promotes tours, merchandise, giveaways, and original online videos.
Is Aaron Kaufman back at Gas Monkey Garage?
No reliable current source supports that claim. Kaufman left Gas Monkey in 2016 and remains associated with his own Dallas company, Arclight Fabrication.
Is Fast N’ Loud still making new episodes?
No. The Discovery series ended after its final season in 2020. Gas Monkey continues to release online videos, but those are company-produced content rather than new Discovery episodes of Fast N’ Loud.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Who is definitely on the current Gas Monkey crew?
Richard Rawlings is confirmed as the owner and public face. Mike Coy has a recent official connection through Gas Monkey content, but a complete current employee roster has not been publicly verified. Many lists online combine former cast members with unconfirmed current names.
The Bottom Line
Gas Monkey Garage survived Fast N’ Loud, but its television crew did not remain a single, publicly documented team. Richard Rawlings still runs the brand from Dallas, Aaron Kaufman is building his own future through Arclight Fabrication, and Mike Coy remains visible in recent Gas Monkey content. Jason Aker, Keke Hons, and the other familiar names require more cautious wording: they are part of Gas Monkey’s history, but their current employment status is not fully confirmed.
