It was molded from the screen-used throne—not the original production prop—and finished in metallic paint with jewel embellishments.
What sold for $1.49 million?
Heritage Auctions’ [lot record] identifies the item as the touring Iron Throne replica, lot 89720. It records a sold price of $1,490,000 on October 12, 2024.
The replica was molded from the original screen-used throne. Heritage describes its construction as plastic, finished with metallic paint and jewel embellishments. The sale price is the amount shown on the lot record; it is not a separately stated hammer price.
Was it the screen-used Iron Throne?
No. The auctioned chair was a touring replica, not the original throne used in production. The distinction matters: the replica was made from a mold of the screen-used object, but that does not make it the production-used throne.

Why is it called “dragon-forged”?
