The second began as a possible reissue, then grew into a new album while a visa problem derailed her planned US tour, including a Coachella appearance. Her account of that creative detour connects with an earlier part of her story: a childhood in which, she recalls, her mother encouraged her to explore what her body could do.
What are FKA twigs’ two 2025 albums?
Eusexua came first; EUSEXUA Afterglow followed on November 14, 2025. The artist’s official Bandcamp listing gives Afterglow’s release date and lists 11 tracks. Live Nation described it as a full album and her second album of 2025, rather than a reissue.

The distinction matters because Afterglow did not start out with a settled identity. In a 2026 interview with Vogue France, FKA twigs said she initially considered a reissue of Eusexua; the idea developed into a new work.
How do Eusexua and Afterglow differ?
The descriptions below reflect the artist’s account and the cited reviewers or promoter, not an objective genre test. Eusexua is commonly framed through its Prague rave inspiration and its focus on ecstatic presence; Afterglow emerged from a later, disrupted period and was described by twigs as more playful and spontaneous.

| Aspect | Eusexua | EUSEXUA Afterglow |
|---|---|---|
| Origin | The Atlantic connected the album to twigs’ stay in Prague and the city’s rave culture. | Twigs told Vogue France it took shape after her planned US tour was cancelled; she said she made it in roughly two months. |
| Approach | Twigs characterized it as more carefully worked. | Twigs characterized it as more playful, spontaneous and instinctive. |
| Descriptions of the sound | The Atlantic described it as dance-pop. | Live Nation described it as techno-steeped, with fractured, playful beats. |
Those characterizations come from The Atlantic’s review, twigs’ Vogue France interview and Live Nation’s album and tour announcement. They offer a useful way to understand the sequence without treating the records as interchangeable.
What does “eusexua” mean in the album’s concept?
In The Atlantic’s account, twigs described “eusexua” as an ecstatic flow state tied to dancing, embodiment and being in the moment. The review also cited the official materials’ description of it as “the pinnacle of Human Experience.” These are artistic formulations, not scientific terms or measurable states.

Why was FKA twigs’ 2025 Coachella appearance cancelled?
Vogue France’s June 2026 retrospective reports that twigs planned to travel to the United States for the Eusexua tour, including Coachella, but her team could not obtain visas. The planned 2025 US dates were cancelled. Twigs said that being unable to leave London for the tour became part of the circumstances in which she made Afterglow.
That cancellation should not be confused with a later announcement. On December 1, 2025, Live Nation announced the Body High tour and listed Coachella dates for April 12 and April 19, 2026. The announcement establishes that those dates were scheduled, not whether the performances ultimately took place.

Where did FKA twigs grow up, and how does childhood illuminate her artistry?
The Guardian reports that Tahliah Debrett Barnett, known as FKA twigs, was born and raised in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. In a March 2025 interview with Zoe Williams for The Guardian, she recalled that her mother danced salsa and made costumes. Twigs said the family was not lavishly wealthy, but she felt loved and that her mother devoted attention to discovering what made her tick.
She described being encouraged from about five to eight to explore who she was and what her body could do: dancing, becoming a cat, or using movement to express an idea. “I grew up feeling like my body could do anything,” she said. The recollection does not explain her art by itself, but it offers a personal context for the centrality of movement and bodily expression in her work.
The Guardian also reports that she left Cheltenham for the Brit School in Croydon for sixth form and had professional dance gigs from age 12. Those details sketch an early path into performance without establishing every aspect of her schooling or family history.

In June 2026, twigs described Body High as a possible third chapter of the Eusexua triptych, while saying its exact shape was not yet clear. It is therefore more accurate to treat it as a developing idea than as a confirmed next album or a completed continuation of the two 2025 records.
