A free scan shows the junk files, broken settings and background clutter dragging Windows down - then fixes them in one click.Free scan · Windows 10 & 11First find out whether the affected video traffic actually passes through your Mumbai VPS. A VPS used as a remote desktop, proxy or VPN, or live encoder creates a different troubleshooting path in each case. If the stream does not use the server, changing VPS settings is unlikely to fix the buffering.
Identify how the VPS is involved
Map the path before changing settings. The VPS may be displaying YouTube in a remote desktop session, carrying your local playback through a proxy or VPN, or encoding and sending a live stream to YouTube. If it does none of these, start with the viewer’s device and internet connection.
- Remote playback: YouTube video is received and played inside a session hosted on the VPS. Check both the server’s connection and the remote desktop experience.
- Proxy or VPN: A local viewer’s YouTube traffic is routed through the VPS. Compare playback with that route enabled and disabled.
- VPS encoder: The server sends the live video to YouTube. Check the encoder, the stream’s health in YouTube, and the VPS’s outbound connection.
Use who is affected to narrow the cause
YouTube’s troubleshooting guidance distinguishes isolated viewer problems from shared-network and encoder problems. If one viewer reports buffering, YouTube says the viewer’s computer or internet connection is a likely place to investigate. If several affected viewers share one internet connection, examine that network. Reports from viewers on different connections can point toward the encoder or stream being sent to YouTube. YouTube’s live-stream troubleshooting guide
Ask affected viewers whether they are on the same network, and compare the same stream at the same quality and time through the VPS route and an independent connection. That comparison helps separate a route-specific problem from an issue common to the stream or viewer.

Check playback and encoder health
If you are watching through the VPS
Compare playback through the VPS with playback over an independent connection. Keep the stream and selected quality the same. If buffering follows the VPS route, record when it happens and check whether the route remains stable; if it also happens outside that route, investigate the viewer’s device, connection and selected playback quality.
If the VPS sends the stream to YouTube
Inspect the stream’s health in YouTube Live Control Room and review the encoder’s output and CPU load. A smooth local encoder preview does not prove that the VPS can deliver the stream reliably to YouTube. If the encoder appears healthy, YouTube recommends testing the strength of the outbound connection. YouTube’s live-stream troubleshooting guide

Follow the particular warning YouTube reports. Live-stream health messages can flag insufficient video reaching YouTube, which may cause viewer buffering, or configuration problems such as keyframe frequency and codec settings. Avoid changing unrelated encoder settings without a corresponding warning. YouTube Live API health-status guidance
Choose latency with buffering risk in mind
For an interactive broadcast, lower latency can help viewers respond sooner, but it leaves less room to absorb interruptions in delivery. YouTube warns that lower latency can mean more playback buffering. Its guidance describes most viewers on low-latency streams as experiencing latency under 10 seconds, and most viewers on ultra-low-latency streams as experiencing latency under five seconds; these are descriptions of the modes, not measurements of your VPS. Normal latency offers the lowest viewer buffering risk, while low and ultra-low latency trade more interruption risk for faster interaction. Choose the mode according to how much real-time interaction matters and whether the sending connection can sustain the selected bitrate. YouTube’s latency guidance

Compare the VPS route before changing providers
Test the same stream at the same quality through the VPS and an independent connection, at both peak and off-peak times. For a VPS encoder, compare sustained outbound throughput, latency variation and packet loss, and note whether route problems coincide with YouTube health errors. Keep timestamps, encoder logs, CPU load and connection measurements so you can give the VPS host actionable evidence.
YouTube gives one useful sizing example for shared viewing: 10 users watching 10 streams require 10 times the inbound network speed of one stream. This concerns inbound viewing traffic; it does not establish the capacity or performance of any particular Mumbai VPS. YouTube’s live-stream troubleshooting guide

The official guidance does not establish that a Mumbai location or shared VPS, by itself, causes YouTube buffering. The relevant question is whether the affected playback or stream traffic uses that server and whether tests show a fault on that route.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Common symptoms and next checks
- Only one viewer buffers: Check that viewer’s device, internet connection and playback quality before changing the VPS.
- Several viewers on one network buffer: Investigate their shared network; YouTube says this pattern probably indicates an issue with that network.
- Viewers on different networks report buffering: If the VPS encodes the broadcast, check YouTube stream health, encoder output and outbound connection strength.
- The encoder preview looks fine, but viewers buffer: Test the VPS’s outbound connection; a healthy preview does not confirm that video reaches YouTube reliably.
- YouTube reports insufficient video or a configuration warning: Address the named health warning, including any indicated keyframe-frequency or codec issue, rather than changing unrelated settings.
- Buffering increases after lowering latency: Consider returning to a less aggressive latency mode if real-time interaction is not essential, then assess whether interruptions improve.
