NBC released the first official image of Stephen Amell as Ted Black on July 19, 2024. It showed the actor seated pensively at a desk in a suit. The series that image introduced, Suits LA, later premiered on NBC in February 2025 and was canceled after one season.
What the first look showed
The image was a single character portrait, not a trailer or a scene preview. In its July 20, 2024 report, Us Magazine described Amell as “looking suited up while thinking pensively at a desk”. The photo was credited to David Astorga/NBC.
Amell appears as Ted Black, the central character in the new series. The image establishes the polished legal-drama look, but it does not show the show’s wider cast or explain its story.
Who Ted Black is—and how the series connects to Suits
Ted is a former federal prosecutor from New York who has moved into Los Angeles’s legal world to represent powerful clients. The series was created by Suits creator Aaron Korsh, but shifts the setting from the original show’s New York to a Los Angeles firm and centers on a new lead. USA Network’s early series explainer describes the original Suits as running from 2011 to 2019.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
NBCUniversal’s premise places Ted’s firm in crisis: he must take on a role he once held in contempt, while colleagues’ professional relationships and personal loyalties become increasingly entangled and parts of Ted’s past emerge. The network’s description says: “Ted is surrounded by a stellar group of characters who test their loyalties to both Ted and each other while they can’t help but mix their personal and professional lives.” This is the series logline, not a quote attributed to a named cast member or creator.
When Suits LA premiered and where it streamed at launch

These are launch dates; they do not establish the show’s current availability in any particular country or service catalog.

No. NBC canceled Suits LA after one season in May 2025. TVLine reported that the scheduled May 18 season finale would also serve as the series finale. At the time of its May 9 cancellation report, TVLine gave the show’s season-to-date average as 2.35 million total viewers, including delayed playback. That is a historical network-season figure, not a streaming audience total or a current viewership measure.
