Short answer: Exodus Redux is an unofficial, unsupported Kodi add-on, and it may be incompatible with your version of Kodi, broken because its repository or dependencies have failed, or unable to retrieve results from third-party sources. There is no reliable or supported fix that can restore unauthorized streams. The safest approach is to determine whether Kodi itself works, remove the obsolete add-on and repository, inspect Kodi’s debug log, and switch to official add-ons or your own local and network media.
First, establish whether Kodi or only Exodus Redux is failing
Before changing settings, test Kodi with content that does not depend on Exodus Redux:
- Play a video stored locally on the device.
- Open a legitimate add-on from Kodi’s official repository.
- Browse a network share or personal media library, if you use one.
If local media and an official add-on work, Kodi, the device, and your basic network connection are probably functioning. The failure is more likely isolated to Exodus Redux, its unofficial repository, or the third-party services on which it depends.
If local files, official add-ons, and other applications all fail, treat the problem as a general Kodi, device, storage, or network issue instead. Kodi can play local, network, and internet media, but Kodi itself does not provide a catalogue of movies or television streams. Third-party add-ons and online services are separate from the Kodi project.

Why Exodus Redux commonly stops working
1. Your Kodi version may no longer be compatible
Kodi 19 and later use Python 3 for Python add-ons. Python 2 and Python 3 are not backward-compatible, so an add-on that worked on Kodi 18 may fail after an upgrade to Kodi 19, 20, 21, or a later release unless its developer ported and maintained it.
New Kodi releases can also change APIs, dependency requirements, and compatibility declarations. Kodi’s documentation makes clear that add-on authors—not Kodi—must update their add-ons when those changes break compatibility. An add-on can therefore fail after a Kodi upgrade even though Kodi itself is operating normally.
2. The add-on or repository may be abandoned or unsupported
Exodus Redux is associated with unofficial repositories and has been identified in Kodi forum discussions under the forum’s piracy policy. It is not an official Kodi feature, and the research does not establish a current official maintainer or a verified working release.
That distinction matters: reinstalling the same add-on, downloading a replacement ZIP, or switching to an unverified fork does not turn it into a supported Kodi component. Do not use mirror sites or random repositories to replace it. Unknown ZIP files and repositories can expose your device and personal data to malicious or unwanted software.

Kodi add-ons declare their dependencies and version requirements in an addon.xml manifest. When an add-on expects an unavailable, incompatible, or damaged dependency, Kodi may show messages such as:
- “Dependency could not be satisfied”
- “Failed to install”
- “Script failed”
- The add-on disappearing after installation
- The installation returning to the previous screen without completing
These symptoms can indicate an obsolete manifest, a failed repository, a missing dependency, or a damaged installation. Downloading a similarly named dependency from an unrelated ZIP site is not a safe repair. Remove the obsolete component or use a legitimate, maintained add-on that declares compatibility with your Kodi version.
4. Third-party sources may have changed or disappeared
Exodus Redux-type add-ons depend on online sources outside Kodi’s control. Those sources can change their websites, block requests, go offline, return no playable links, or stop responding to the add-on.

This explains a particularly confusing pattern: the add-on opens and displays menus, but a search returns no results or playback fails. In that situation, Kodi may be working correctly while the add-on’s external sources are unavailable. Because restoring or bypassing unauthorized sources is not a supported or authorized troubleshooting path, do not rely on scraper replacements, provider workarounds, debrid configuration, VPNs, or alternate DNS settings as a “fix.”
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors5. The add-on profile or cache may be damaged
A corrupted add-on profile, stale database, or cached response can cause menus not to load, settings to reset, or the add-on to fail immediately. Removing the relevant third-party component can eliminate the symptom, but clearing a cache is not guaranteed to make Exodus Redux work again.
Do not wipe Kodi’s entire data directory as a first step. A full reset can remove legitimate libraries, settings, and other add-ons. Back up your legitimate Kodi configuration first and limit any cleanup to the obsolete third-party add-on and its related repository.
6. The device or network may be the real problem
When official or local Kodi content also fails, check the wider system:
- Confirm that the device is connected to the internet.
- Check that the system date, time, and time zone are correct.
- Confirm that local storage is available and readable.
- Test another legitimate online service.
- Restart the router only if other applications also show connectivity problems.
- Check whether the device is overheating, running out of memory, or struggling with the video format.
Menu names and log locations vary between Windows, Android, Linux, macOS, LibreELEC, CoreELEC, and other Kodi platforms. Do not assume that a playback failure in one unofficial add-on proves there is a hardware or internet fault.

A safe troubleshooting workflow
Step 1: Record the basic details
Write down the Kodi version, operating system, device model, exact on-screen error, and the time the failure occurred. Also note whether local files and official add-ons work. This prevents unrelated network or hardware problems from being confused with an unsupported add-on failure.
Step 2: Use a stable Kodi release
Check Kodi’s official download page for the stable release appropriate to your platform. At the time covered by this research, Kodi’s Windows page identified Kodi 21.3 Omega as stable, while Kodi 22 Piers was described as a beta release. Version availability and labels can change, so check the official page for the current status rather than treating a beta as a repair.

Installing a beta may introduce new regressions and is particularly unlikely to help an obsolete unofficial add-on. If the problem began immediately after moving to a new major Kodi version, compatibility is a stronger suspect than your internet connection.
Step 3: Disable or remove Exodus Redux and its repository
In Kodi, open the add-on manager and locate the video add-on and the related repository. Disable or uninstall them, then restart Kodi. The exact menu wording can vary by Kodi version and skin, but the usual route is:
- Open Add-ons from Kodi’s main menu.
- Choose My add-ons or the relevant add-on category.
- Open the installed video add-on and select Disable or Uninstall.
- Return to the repository list, open the related third-party repository, and uninstall it if it is no longer needed.
- Restart Kodi and test local media or an official add-on.
If you originally installed it from a ZIP file, be especially cautious about replacement ZIPs. Kodi warns that manually installed add-ons may not receive updates unless they are hosted by a repository, and enabling unknown sources creates security risks. Do not install an unknown APK, ZIP, or “latest fix” from a mirror site.
Step 4: Read the error rather than guessing
A dependency error points toward compatibility or installation metadata. A missing add-on points toward a failed installation or repository. An add-on that opens but produces no results points toward unavailable third-party sources. A complete Kodi playback failure points toward the device, network, storage, or media format.
That distinction helps you avoid destructive fixes. Clearing every setting, changing DNS, installing a VPN, or repeatedly reinstalling the same repository will not repair an unsupported dependency or bring an unavailable source back.
Step 5: Test the network without bypassing restrictions
Use another legitimate service or website on the same device. Check the clock and confirm that the device has a normal connection. If only Exodus Redux fails while other services work, the evidence points away from a general network outage.
A VPN does not make an unofficial add-on supported or make unauthorized streaming legal. Likewise, alternate DNS settings, scraper replacements, and debrid services do not address the underlying maintenance and authorization problems, so they are not recommended as troubleshooting steps here.

Step 6: Create a Kodi debug log
Kodi describes its debug log as a basic diagnostic tool. Enable debug logging, reproduce the failure once, and then stop logging or restart Kodi as appropriate for your platform. The official Kodi Wiki provides platform-specific instructions and locations for Android, Windows, macOS, Linux, LibreELEC, CoreELEC, and other systems.
A useful report includes:
- Kodi version and platform or device model.
- The add-on and repository version, if Kodi still displays them.
- The exact time of the failure.
- The precise on-screen error.
- Whether local files and official add-ons worked.
- The relevant section of the full debug log from the session containing the failure.
Review the log before posting it. Logs can contain usernames, file paths, device names, personal information, and details of unofficial repositories. Redact private information and do not publicly share credentials or tokens.
Step 7: Use a clean profile only to isolate corruption
A fresh Kodi profile or installation can show whether your existing profile is damaged, but it should be a diagnostic last resort—not the default “fix.” Kodi stores add-ons and related files in its user-data and add-ons directories. A reset can remove legitimate media-library data, settings, skins, and add-ons.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Back up your legitimate library and configuration data first. If Kodi works in a clean profile with only official content installed, the original profile or one of its third-party components is likely responsible. That result is a reason to rebuild carefully, not a reason to reinstall Exodus Redux from another unknown source.
What not to do
- Do not assume clearing the cache will restore Exodus Redux.
- Do not install random dependencies, ZIP files, APKs, forks, or repository mirrors.
- Do not disable security protections to make an add-on install.
- Do not use a VPN as a supposed compatibility or legal fix.
- Do not claim that a particular repository, scraper, provider, or fork is working without current, legitimate verification.
- Do not erase all Kodi data before backing up your legitimate library and settings.
- Do not confuse Kodi with a streaming service. Kodi supplies the media-center software; it does not supply movie or television content.
Use supported alternatives instead
Kodi’s official add-on catalogue contains version-specific add-ons that can be installed through Kodi and may update automatically. Availability depends on the Kodi version and platform. For a supported setup, use official add-ons from the Kodi repository, authorized services, your own locally stored videos, or media shared from a computer or network-attached storage.
Kodi’s official repository also excludes add-ons designed to circumvent paywalls or provide illegal access to content. That policy is a useful safety filter: if an add-on’s main purpose is to aggregate unauthorized sources, it is not an appropriate replacement for a broken unofficial scraper.

When a network adapter is relevant
A USB Ethernet adapter or Wi-Fi adapter is worth considering only when your evidence shows a genuine network problem affecting legitimate services, and only after checking the host device, available port, operating system, chipset, and driver support. Compatibility varies substantially between Windows PCs, Linux computers, Android devices, and dedicated media boxes.
It will not fix an obsolete add-on, a failed repository, a missing dependency, or unavailable third-party sources. For a Windows computer, check the manufacturer’s drivers and Device Manager first rather than assuming a driver utility is necessary. Driver software is not relevant to Android TV, Fire TV, LibreELEC, CoreELEC, or a repository-only failure.
Security and legal considerations
Use Kodi with media and services you are authorized to access. Kodi’s project and official services do not support bootleg or illegally sourced material, and unofficial repositories can present additional security and privacy risks. Removing an unsupported add-on is therefore both a practical troubleshooting step and a sensible security step.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does Exodus Redux show no streams on Kodi?
The add-on relies on third-party online sources that may have changed, disappeared, blocked requests, or stopped returning playable links. It can therefore open normally while producing no results. This is not necessarily a Kodi or internet fault, and bypassing those sources is not a supported troubleshooting method.
What does “dependency could not be satisfied” mean in Kodi?
It usually means the add-on requires a component that is missing, unavailable, damaged, or incompatible with your Kodi version. Check the error and debug log, then remove the obsolete add-on rather than installing a random dependency ZIP.
Will updating Kodi fix Exodus Redux?
Not reliably. Kodi upgrades can break older Python add-ons or expose incompatible dependencies. Use a stable Kodi release, but do not install a beta or upgrade solely to revive an unsupported add-on.
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
Should I use a VPN or change DNS settings?
No—not as a fix for Exodus Redux. A VPN or alternate DNS may change how a connection behaves, but it does not make the add-on supported, repair its dependencies, restore an unavailable source, or make unauthorized streaming legal.
How do I troubleshoot Kodi without losing my settings?
Test local media and official add-ons first, record the error, create a debug log, and remove only the relevant third-party add-on and repository. Back up legitimate library and configuration data before attempting a clean profile or full reset.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: Exodus Redux failing is most likely an unsupported add-on, compatibility, dependency, repository, or third-party-source problem—not a Kodi feature that needs a hidden setting. Verify that Kodi and legitimate media work, remove the unofficial components, inspect a redacted debug log if necessary, and use official add-ons or your own authorized media instead of unknown ZIPs, VPN workarounds, or unverified forks.
