An FBI situational report says Jeffrey Epstein made an approximately 20-minute call to Karyna Shuliak at about 7:19 p.m. EDT on August 9, 2019, the night before he was found unresponsive. That makes her the recipient of the last documented personal call in the records discussed here—not definitively the last person he spoke to in any sense. The call was unmonitored and unrecorded, and the available sources do not establish what was said. The provenance and purpose of the dental-room photos described in the headline are also not established.
What do the records say about Epstein’s last documented call?
An FBI situational report places the call at approximately 7:19 p.m. EDT on August 9, 2019. It says Epstein was allowed to make an approximately 20-minute call to Shuliak on an unsecured, unmonitored line. The same report says he was found unresponsive in his cell at approximately 6:30 a.m. EDT on August 10. Because the call was unmonitored and not recorded, the reviewed sources provide no complete transcript. Later reporting says the recipient was called “Individual 1” in the OIG report and that Shuliak’s identification came through outside reporting and information relayed by her lawyer. The evidence supports describing her as the recipient of the last documented personal call in these records; it does not establish that no one else spoke with Epstein afterward or verify the conversation’s contents. An FBI interview summary records former Epstein employee Richard Barnett identifying “KARYNA (Known to the FBI as KARYNA SHULIAK)” among Epstein’s girlfriends. Her reported dental studies
Le Monde reported that Shuliak was Belarusian and studied dental medicine in Minsk before coming to the United States. That reporting supports describing her as someone with a dental-education background, but the sources reviewed here do not establish her full credentials or whether she is currently licensed to practice dentistry. Do the records prove Shuliak was Epstein’s last in-person visitor?
No. The call on August 9 and a separate record dated July 30 are different kinds of evidence. Arkansas Public Advocate reported in 2026 that the July 30 record cited in claims that Shuliak visited Epstein was an intake-screening phone log, not a visit log. It reports a phone call, not an in-person visit. That distinction does not change what the August 9 report says about the later call, but it means the July 30 record should not be presented as proof of a prison visit. What is established about the “creepy dental room” photos?
The sources reviewed here do not identify the specific photographs, their source file numbers, where or when they were taken, or what the room was used for. Without that provenance, the room’s appearance cannot establish its purpose. Shuliak’s reported dental studies do not establish a connection between her and the photographs, either. The images’ origin and significance remain unverified in the sources cited here.
