He went on to perform in four Australian cities, but the tour did not finish as planned: on 26 February 2025, four remaining Australia and New Zealand shows were cancelled because of a reported scheduling conflict. The cited reporting does not confirm that those dates were later rescheduled.
What did Drake announce on xQc’s livestream?
On 24 November 2024, Drake spoke about returning to Australia during a livestream with Félix Lengyel, the streamer known as xQc. He named Melbourne, Sydney and the Gold Coast and called the tour the Anita Max Wynn tour. PerthNow reported that Drake had not yet announced it on his other platforms at that time. PerthNow’s account of the livestream quotes Drake saying, “I’m coming back to Australia for the first time in eight years.”
That was the initial announcement, not the final itinerary. Subsequent announcements added and changed dates and cities.
Which cities were on the itinerary, and where did Drake perform?
Later coverage listed Australian dates in Perth, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, as well as Auckland dates in New Zealand. The tour began in Perth on 4 February 2025. Before the cancellation announcement, Drake had performed in all four Australian cities.

The return was presented at announcement time as his first Australian visit in eight years. Contemporary reporting identifies his previous Australian tour as the 2017 Boy Meets World tour. ABC triple j’s announcement coverage and Billboard’s itinerary report cover the evolving tour plans.
Why were the remaining shows cancelled?
On 26 February 2025, Drake cancelled the four remaining Australia and New Zealand dates. A representative attributed the change to a “scheduling conflict.” ABC reported that the statement was provided to Rolling Stone AU/NZ and appeared on Ticketek’s website. ABC’s cancellation report says Ticketek advised customers they would be notified if rescheduled dates were confirmed and could seek refunds through its website.

Some later coverage styles the name “Anita Max Win.” Rolling Stone Australia describes it as a reference to a persona Drake used on a December 2023 livestream and a play on “I need a max win.” That is reported context for the name, not confirmation of Drake’s intent beyond the account given by that publication. Rolling Stone Australia’s report discusses the reference.
