He then uses Shenron to turn the Buu fighters and their friends into children. The episode ends as that wish takes effect.
What happens in “Conspiracy”?
The episode opens by explaining the Dragon Balls: gather all seven and say the password to summon Shenron, who can grant a wish. In the Demon Realm, Gomah and Degesu watch footage of the Majin Buu Saga. The scenes are not a new battle unfolding in the present; they show the events that have drawn Gomah’s attention to Earth’s warriors. Crunchyroll’s episode recap identifies Degesu as Shin’s younger brother and notes Gomah’s reaction as Buu consumes Dabura and later kills Babidi.

As Gomah and Degesu review the conflict, the footage recalls the fighters’ struggle against Buu, Earth’s Dragon Balls, and Goku’s final Super Spirit Bomb. Dr. Arinsu enters the Demon Realm sequence and encourages Gomah’s suspicions. Seeing the fighters’ demonstrated strength as a possible threat to his position, Gomah decides to act before they can endanger his ambitions in the Demon Realm. He plans to use Earth’s Dragon Balls to make them less dangerous and to pursue the Evil Third Eye.
What is happening on Earth before the wish?
The story shifts to a gathering for Trunks’ birthday. Gohan is away studying, while Goku and Vegeta leave the celebration to spar. That ordinary get-together establishes where the heroes are before Gomah, Degesu, and the elderly Namekian Neva arrive at the Lookout, where Dende and Mr. Popo are present.

#1 Best Overall
The Earth Dragon Balls are still stone after their recent use. Neva revives them, allowing Gomah to summon Shenron. He wishes for those who fought Majin Buu, along with their friends, to be turned into “first graders.” Anyone who is already young becomes a baby. Shenron grants the wish, and the episode closes as the transformation takes hold.
What does Episode 1 set up?
“Conspiracy” has two connected jobs: it recaps the Buu Saga through the Demon Realm characters’ viewpoint, then advances the story with Gomah’s response to what he has seen. The recap supplies his motive; the birthday gathering and wish bring the threat to Earth. The immediate problem is the successful transformation, not a solution to it.

The end credits also tease a mysterious blue figure. The Crunchyroll recap leaves that identity unanswered, so Episode 1 does not establish who the figure is.

The official episode listing names the first installment “Conspiracy.” Toei Animation describes the series premise as Goku and his friends suddenly becoming small because of a conspiracy, with the reason potentially tied to the Demon Realm. Its Dragon Ball DAIMA catalog page also introduces Glorio as a mysterious young Majin.
