Not every Google One plan includes YouTube Premium. In the United States, Google AI Ultra includes full YouTube Premium Individual, while eligible paid Google AI Pro members get YouTube Premium Lite. Google AI Plus may offer full Premium as a discounted add-on, and Google One Basic does not include a YouTube benefit. Availability depends on your country, account, and how you pay for the plan.
Which Google plans include a YouTube benefit?
Google’s consumer plans now span storage-focused subscriptions and Google AI plans. The name and benefits shown can vary by country, account, billing channel, and rollout, so check the offer attached to your own account before switching.

These are current plan signals, not a guarantee that every account sees the same offer. Google’s plan comparison and the Benefits page in your account are the best places to confirm current availability and checkout terms. The distinction matters most if you listen to music or expect every part of YouTube to be ad-free.

Premium Lite is best understood as a reduced-ad option for much ordinary video viewing, not a cheaper version of every Premium feature. If your main reason for subscribing is uninterrupted music, music downloads, or YouTube Music, Lite is not a substitute for full Premium. What each plan means in practice
Google One Basic: storage, not YouTube
Basic provides 100 GB of shared Google storage, but it does not include full YouTube Premium or Premium Lite. If you mainly want more space for Drive, Gmail, or Photos, it may suit that need; you will need a separate YouTube subscription for Premium features.

Google AI Plus: discounted Premium may be an add-on
Eligible Google AI Plus plans with 2 TB or more may offer YouTube Premium Individual at a reduced price. You have to choose the add-on, and it adds a recurring charge; it is not included at no cost with the plan. The offer can be limited by country, account type, promotions, and billing arrangements. Google’s add-on help page lists eligibility and the account steps.

Google AI Pro: Premium Lite, not full Premium
Eligible paid Google AI Pro members in supported countries, including the United States, receive Premium Lite Individual. Google lists a U.S. price of $19.99 per month for AI Pro and 5 TB of storage, but prices and plan display can change; verify the amount shown for your account. The Lite benefit may not begin during a free trial: Google’s terms say it becomes accessible once the trial ends and paid membership starts. The benefit is generally limited to the plan manager, not every person in a Google One family group.

Google AI Ultra: full Premium Individual
In supported countries, including the United States, AI Ultra includes full YouTube Premium Individual at no additional charge. That means the full YouTube and YouTube Music Premium feature set, but for one individual—not a YouTube Premium family plan. Ultra has multiple tiers and a high price, so it is sensible only if its AI, storage, and other benefits also fit your needs. Confirm the current tier and price at Google’s plan page.
Why older articles may say something different
Google’s plan names and bundles have changed. Some older coverage refers to a “Google One Premium 2 TB” plan; Google’s newer lineup presents a 2 TB option as Google AI Plus in relevant markets. Meanwhile, the 2026 lineup distinguishes an AI Pro benefit of Premium Lite from Ultra’s full Premium Individual. A statement that “Google One includes YouTube Premium” can therefore be outdated or misleading unless it names the plan and specifies whether the benefit is full Premium, Lite, or a paid add-on.

- Sign in to the Google Account that manages your Google One or Google AI plan.
- Go to one.google.com and open Benefits.
- Find the YouTube Premium or Premium Lite card, if one appears.
- Check whether it says included, discounted, or Add to plan, then read the recurring price and terms.
- For an eligible discounted add-on, select Add to plan, review the offer, and select Subscribe to confirm.
If there is no card, the plan or account may not be eligible, the country may be unsupported, the membership may be in a trial or managed by a partner, an existing YouTube subscription may conflict, or the offer may not have rolled out to the account. An absent offer is not proof that the steps are wrong. Google’s instructions for the add-on cover the current account flow.

To remove a YouTube add-on, Google’s published web path is: Google One → Settings → expand Change membership plan → Manage add-on → Remove under YouTube Premium Individual, then confirm the change. Labels can differ slightly by device, language, or interface version.

If you already pay for YouTube Premium
An existing standalone YouTube Premium or Premium Lite subscription may prevent an included benefit from activating. Google does not necessarily cancel the old subscription for you, so you could continue paying for it while the Google One-linked offer remains unused.
Before making a change, confirm that the new benefit is available to your account and check which company or platform bills your current subscription. If you need to cancel the existing plan to switch, it normally remains active until the end of its current billing period. Google generally does not provide partial-period refunds or credits. For a discounted add-on, Google may require you to wait until the old subscription expires before subscribing through Google One. Do not cancel first on the assumption that an offer will appear afterward.
Family sharing and partner billing
Sharing Google One storage does not automatically share its YouTube benefit. The AI Ultra YouTube Premium benefit is an individual subscription; the AI Pro Premium Lite benefit is generally limited to the plan manager and is non-shareable; and the discounted Premium add-on is also an individual plan. Other family members may still see ads and may need their own eligible subscription.

Plans purchased through Google Fi, a Pixel or other promotion, an affiliate, or another third party can have different eligibility. Some partner arrangements may qualify for AI Pro’s Lite benefit but not for the discounted full Premium add-on. Supervised accounts and enterprise purchases can also be excluded. Check the Benefits page for the account that actually manages the plan rather than relying on storage capacity alone.
Which option makes sense?
- You mainly want ad-free videos and music: Compare standalone YouTube Premium with any discounted add-on offered in your Google One account. If YouTube is the only goal, do not pay for a higher AI plan just to get the benefit.
- You already need 2 TB storage or AI Plus: Check the actual add-on price and terms. A discount is useful only if the combined cost and included features beat buying what you need separately.
- You need 5 TB and mainly watch creator videos: AI Pro’s included Premium Lite may be useful if you accept its ad and music limitations and also value the storage and AI features.
- You want music without ads or full YouTube Music Premium: Choose full YouTube Premium, whether standalone, as an eligible paid add-on, or through AI Ultra; Premium Lite does not meet that need.
- You want a family YouTube plan: Do not assume a Google One-linked individual benefit will cover everyone. Compare the family option offered by YouTube separately.
- You are considering AI Ultra: Count its AI and storage value as well as YouTube. It is a poor-value purchase if YouTube is the sole reason.
Google does not have one universal YouTube Premium price: the amount can vary by country, billing platform, tax, plan type, and promotions. Check YouTube’s signup page and the Google One checkout offer for current prices before deciding.
