As of August 18, 2026, Disney’s official U.S. pricing page lists Disney+ at $11.99 per month with ads or $18.99 without standard ads. The Disney+/Hulu bundle costs $12.99 with ads or $19.99 without standard ads. Those prices are real, but the available official information does not confirm a fresh, universal price increase taking effect after that date.
If your bill just went up, it may reflect an actual list-price change—but it could also be an expired promotion, a lost carrier discount, a retired legacy plan, a plan migration, or overlapping subscriptions. Check the exact plan, billing provider, and next renewal date before cancelling or switching.
Current U.S. Disney+ and Hulu prices
These prices were listed by Disney for U.S. customers on August 18, 2026. Taxes, promotional offers, annual billing, and third-party billing can change the final amount.

Disney also lists a Disney+/Hulu/Max bundle at $19.99 per month with ads or $32.99 without ads. Hulu’s current welcome-page material lists Hulu with ads plus Live TV at $89.99 per month, although live-TV plans have different features and terms from ordinary on-demand subscriptions. Is this a new 2026 price hike?
Not necessarily. The pricing page confirms what Disney charges now, but it does not by itself prove that every subscriber has just experienced a new increase. A higher bill can have several explanations:
- A promotional or introductory rate ended.
- A carrier, credit-card, or wireless discount disappeared.
- A grandfathered plan was retired or migrated.
- A separate Disney+, Hulu, or ESPN subscription is being billed alongside a bundle.
- A subscription changed at the next billing cycle.
- A third-party billing platform is charging a different price or offering different plan availability.
Disney warns that prices can vary by platform and region. If you received a price-change email, compare the old and new plan names, the effective date, and the billing party. If you did not receive one, inspect your account before assuming the increase is universal.
The bundle math is unusually important
The ad-supported Disney+/Hulu bundle costs just $1 more than Disney+ with ads alone: $12.99 versus $11.99 per month. If you watch even occasional Hulu content, dropping Hulu may save almost nothing.
The premium comparison is even more striking. Disney+ Premium costs $18.99, while the Disney+/Hulu Premium bundle costs $19.99. For someone who already wants ad-free Disney+, Hulu is effectively a $1 add-on at the listed monthly prices.

“Ad-free” still needs qualification. Disney says advertising or promotional material may remain in select live and linear programming. Also, Hulu content available through Disney+ is not necessarily the complete Hulu library. Eligible customers can watch selected Hulu programming in Disney+, while additional content may still require the Hulu app. Disney explains that arrangement in its Hulu-on-Disney+ help page.
When the larger bundles make sense
ESPN bundles
ESPN Select and ESPN Unlimited are different products. The $19.99 Disney+/Hulu/ESPN Select bundle may suit viewers who want the general entertainment services plus selected ESPN programming. ESPN Unlimited bundles cost more—$35.99 with ads or $44.99 with premium Disney+ and Hulu—and are aimed at households that will use substantially more sports content.
If nobody in the household watches ESPN, its inclusion is not a saving. It is simply an additional monthly cost.
Disney+, Hulu and Max
The Disney+/Hulu/Max bundle costs $19.99 with ads or $32.99 without ads. It can be worthwhile for a household already paying for Max and regularly using all three catalogs. It is a poor fit if you want only Disney+, dislike bundle lock-in, or need a Max feature that is unavailable through the bundled tier.

Hulu + Live TV
Hulu + Live TV is not a direct substitute for the ordinary Hulu on-demand tier. It is intended for people who need live channels, news, local programming, or live sports and want to replace part of a traditional cable package. On-demand viewers should compare its $89.99 listed price with much cheaper streaming-only options before switching.
Why the timing feels especially frustrating
The frustration is not only about one monthly charge. Disney is changing the way its streaming business is organized at the same time that households are dealing with more services, more ad tiers, and more complicated bundles.
Disney announced in October 2025 that it was continuing to integrate Hulu into Disney+ ahead of a planned unified app experience in 2026. That does not mean every subscription or billing system has already merged, and it does not prove that the app change itself creates a price increase. It does mean customers are being asked to evaluate changing products while prices and plan names remain in flux. Disney’s announcement is available from The Walt Disney Company.
The ad-supported strategy adds another tension: the cheapest options remain relatively accessible, but customers must accept commercials and more restrictions. Disney launched its ad-supported Disney+ tier in December 2022 as both a lower-priced option and a way to expand advertising revenue and audience targeting.

Why Disney keeps emphasizing bundles
Bundles can raise the amount a household spends while making cancellation less attractive. They also give Disney more ways to monetize the same customer: subscription revenue from several services, advertising on cheaper tiers, and premium sports pricing through ESPN.
Disney’s fiscal 2025 reporting shows the company tracking Disney+, Hulu, average revenue per subscriber, advertising revenue, and direct-to-consumer profitability. Disney reported 196 million combined Disney+ and Hulu subscriptions at the end of fiscal 2025 and direct-to-consumer operating income of $352 million for the year. Those figures support the broader conclusion that Disney is focused on a more profitable streaming operation; they do not prove why any individual customer’s bill changed. Disney launched ad-supported Disney+ and the Disney Bundle in December 2022. It subsequently changed prices across Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN tiers in later pricing rounds, with different treatment for different bundles and customer groups. That history is why an older article or a current bill can make it sound as though one new increase applies to everyone.
The safer interpretation is more specific: Disney streaming prices have risen over time, but the current evidence available for August 18, 2026 confirms the present price list rather than a newly announced, universal post-August 2026 hike. Treat any customer email or account notice as the controlling evidence for your own subscription.

What each type of subscriber should do
If you subscribe only to Disney+
Compare $11.99 with ads against $18.99 without ads. If you would watch Hulu, the $12.99 Disney+/Hulu bundle is only $1 more than Disney+ with ads. If you never use Hulu and strongly dislike ads, Disney+ Premium may be the simpler choice.
If you subscribe only to Hulu
Compare your current Hulu price with the $12.99 Disney+/Hulu bundle. The bundle may add Disney+ for little or no practical extra cost, but verify whether your current plan is promotional, annual, carrier-billed, or tied to a valuable benefit.
If you pay for ad-free viewing
Compare Disney+ Premium at $18.99 with the Disney+/Hulu Premium bundle at $19.99. The bundle is compelling if you use Hulu, but remember that select live or linear programming may still contain advertising or promotional material.
If you watch sports
Compare the ESPN Select and ESPN Unlimited bundles with the sports services you already pay for. Do not choose ESPN Unlimited simply because it is the larger tier; choose it only if its additional programming justifies the higher monthly cost.

Disney lists a $24.99 legacy Disney+ Premium, Hulu with ads, and ESPN Select bundle that is no longer available for new purchases or plan switching. Existing subscribers may retain it only if they do not change or cancel the plan. Switching away can permanently remove that option.
How to check your account before changing anything
- Sign in through DisneyPlus.com or Hulu.com, depending on who bills you.
- Open Account or Manage Subscription.
- Record the exact plan name, monthly or annual price, next billing date, and billing provider.
- Look for separate Disney+, Hulu, ESPN, or Max subscriptions that overlap with a bundle.
- Compare downgrade, upgrade, bundle, and cancellation options.
- Check the effective date and any prorated charge or credit before confirming.
- Save the confirmation email or take a screenshot.
Disney says plan changes can involve prorated charges or credits and that the new price applies for the life of the subscription at the then-current rate. If Apple, Google, Roku, a telecom company, or another third party bills you, make the change through that provider unless Disney specifically directs you elsewhere. Do not cancel a legacy plan until you know what replacement price you will receive.
