Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle is a three-film theatrical finale, and Part 2 still has no officially announced release date. The sequel is actively in production. Aniplex announced Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle as a trilogy of theatrical films adapting the final Infinity Castle arc. Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures are handling theatrical distribution outside Japan and selected Asian territories.

Why is everyone talking about a two-year gap?
Part 1 provides the starting point
The first film’s Japanese theatrical opening was July 18, 2025. A Part 2 release in 2027 would therefore arrive about two years later, which is the source of the “two-year” wording.
2027 is an inference, not an announcement
Neither Aniplex nor ufotable has confirmed 2027 in the cited announcements. Treat that year as a forecast based on the interval from Part 1, not as a scheduled release. Claims that Part 3 will follow in 2029 are even more speculative.

Is Infinity Castle Part 2 delayed?
There is no published delay announcement to point to. The confirmed information is that the second movie is “actively in production” and that the partners are not yet ready to reveal when it will arrive.
A February 2026 report on ufotable’s project slate listed Infinity Castle Part 2 among future projects. That status does not support a 2026 theatrical release, but it also does not establish a replacement date or explain the production timetable.

How Japan and international releases fit together
July 18, 2025 is the Japanese opening date for Part 1. International theatrical launches are handled through Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures in territories covered by their agreement, so a Japanese date should not be treated as a simultaneous worldwide date.

No official Part 2 theatrical date—Japanese or international—has been published in the available announcements. When a date is eventually revealed, regional rollout information may still be separate from the first Japanese opening.
