The final trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine makes Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine’s past part of its pitch for the future. Released on July 19, 2024, a week before the film’s announced July 26 theatrical release, it sets a battered alternate Logan beside images from Jackman’s earlier Fox-era appearances. Deadpool’s challenge is to persuade this Logan that he can still become an enduring hero.
What is in the final trailer?
In the trailer titled “Deadpool & Wolverine | Final Trailer | In Theaters July 26,” the present-day alternate Logan is juxtaposed with footage of Jackman’s Wolverine across the Fox X-Men films. That contrast gives the trailer its central visual idea: this Logan is not yet the legend suggested by the archival images, and Deadpool wants him to live up to that legacy.

James Whitbrook, writing for io9 on July 19, 2024, called it “a rather more somber look at the legacy of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine.” The description fits the contrast between the down-and-out Logan and the retrospective images. It also sets this trailer apart from the comedy-forward tone that Whitbrook says had characterized earlier promotion.
Why is it a love letter to the Wolverines?
The trailer treats Wolverine not only as a character in this film, but as a role with a history. By placing the alternate Logan beside moments from Jackman’s earlier performances, it asks viewers to measure this version against the hero they have seen before. The emotional hook is Deadpool’s attempt to convince Logan that he can become the kind of lasting hero those memories represent.
#1 Best Overall
- Marvel Studios presents their most significant mistake yet. His days as Deadpool behind him, a listless Wade Wilson toils away in civilian life. But when his homeworld is threatened, he reluctantly suits up as he tries to convince Wolverine? oh hell, just watch. Warning: Some flashing-lights scenes in this film may affect photosensitive viewers.
Who returns, and what else does the trailer tease?
Laura Kinney returns
Dafne Keen reprises Laura Kinney, the character formerly known as X-23. Her appearance connects the film to another character associated with Wolverine. In the comics, Laura has taken up the Wolverine mantle alongside Logan on more than one occasion; that is comic-book context, not a confirmation that the trailer shows her doing so in the film.
The Deadpool Corps and Cassandra Nova
The trailer also teases the Deadpool Corps, with Lady Deadpool singled out, and Cassandra Nova, identified in the coverage as the film’s antagonist. These are glimpses and teases, not a full account of their roles or the film’s plot.

What the trailer does—and does not—establish
- It establishes a legacy-focused contrast between the alternate Logan and images from Jackman’s earlier Fox-era Wolverine appearances.
- It shows Dafne Keen returning as Laura Kinney and teases the Deadpool Corps and Cassandra Nova.
- It does not establish the full roles of those teased characters, additional unshown cameos, or plot details beyond Deadpool’s effort to persuade Logan to become a hero.
A behind-the-scenes companion
A separate physical companion, Marvel Studios’ Deadpool & Wolverine: Exposed — Photos from the Set HC, was described in a GamesRadar+ report on Marvel’s February 2025 solicitations as a dustjacketed photo book with behind-the-scenes photography and production insights. That report establishes that the book was solicited; it does not establish current stock or pricing.
