Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 ends with Matt Murdock back in the fight against Wilson Fisk—but the conflict has changed. Matt is carrying Foggy Nelson’s murder and the guilt of nearly killing Bullseye; Fisk is now New York’s mayor, using the machinery of government against vigilantes; and Karen Page has returned to help organize resistance. Season 2 premiered on Disney+ on March 24, 2026, so this is a refresher for viewers catching up.
Matt Murdock loses Foggy—and breaks his own code
Matt is still Daredevil when Benjamin “Dex” Poindexter, the assassin known as Bullseye, kills Foggy Nelson. Foggy’s death devastates Matt and fractures the partnership that had anchored his life as both a lawyer and a vigilante.
Matt catches up with Bullseye and throws him from a building, believing the fall may kill him. That choice crosses a line Matt has tried to hold: he has let grief turn into an attempt at revenge. He steps away from being Daredevil for a time and returns his attention to legal work.
By the finale, Matt puts the mask back on. His return is not a return to the old status quo; he is resolved to bring Fisk down, while still confronting what his own actions have made possible.

Fisk turns the mayor’s office into a weapon
Wilson Fisk wins New York’s mayoral election despite his criminal history. Public office gives him a new route to the power he has long sought, including the pursuit of a free port as part of his plans.
Fisk establishes an Anti-Vigilante Task Force to target vigilantes and people connected to them. The danger is no longer limited to Fisk’s criminal network: city authority and enforcement are now part of the conflict. At the end of the season, he declares martial law, and people are detained in cages at the port.

Karen returns to help Matt build resistance
Foggy’s murder also puts distance between Matt and Karen Page. Grieving, Karen briefly leaves New York for San Francisco. She returns by the finale, ready to help Matt assemble a team against Fisk.
Her return matters because Fisk’s reach extends beyond a direct fight with Daredevil. Matt needs allies willing to expose and resist a mayor who can use public institutions against his opponents.
