Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande’s commentary on Wicked’s home-release extras reveals what five deleted or extended moments add to the 2024 film: a candid exchange between Elphaba and Boq, support for Elphaba at the train platform, and more space for the friendship between Elphaba and Glinda. The scenes were included with the film’s home release; they are not from Wicked: For Good.
What scenes do Erivo and Grande discuss?
Their discussion centers on five pieces of deleted or extended material: “Boq and Elphaba Talk,” “Train Platform Farewell,” “Toss Toss,” “Elphaba’s Promise,” and “Train Ride to Emerald City.” Peacock’s March 2025 collection listing also named “Pfannee & ShenShen Meet Glinda” and “Palace Monkeys Chase.” The collection report establishes what was available at that time, not what is currently accessible in every territory.

These are bonus scenes associated with the 2024 film’s home release. They should not be confused with screenplay passages or concepts that may not have been filmed, nor with bonus material for the later sequel.
“Boq and Elphaba Talk”: honesty between friends
Elphaba encourages Boq to tell Nessa how he feels. Boq turns the advice back on Elphaba, recognizing her feelings for Fiyero. Grande singled out his reply: “Sorry, I misunderstood. I thought we were being honest.” She said she and her acting coach marked the line with hearts when they first read the script, and called the scene one she missed.
#1 Best Overall
Erivo connected the exchange to the relationship in the book, saying, “And that’s actually a really important relationship from the book, that they actually are friends.” In the film’s story, the scene gives Boq and Elphaba a moment of mutual candor and lets someone name feelings Elphaba has not openly acknowledged. The performers’ affection for the scene does not establish why it was left out of the theatrical cut.
“Train Platform Farewell”: Elphaba is not alone
After Elphaba is invited to the Emerald City, Governor Thropp continues to criticize her. In the platform scene, Glinda and Madame Morrible stand up for her. Erivo valued the moment because “it felt like people were holding her up.” It adds a visible beat of support amid the family tension, as Erivo described it.

“Toss Toss”: a longer comic run
This extended sequence follows Elphaba trying Glinda’s signature “toss toss,” with different ball gowns and multiple takes. Grande joked that she wanted the whole string of attempts. Her “12 hours” remark is a joke, not the length of the released extra.
“Elphaba’s Promise”: friendship and feelings left unsaid
Elphaba promises Glinda she will take her along to the Emerald City. The scene also touches on Glinda noticing that Elphaba and Fiyero have disappeared with the lion cub. Grande’s reading is that Glinda may feel left out, but does not yet assume a romance is developing. Erivo likewise said Glinda does not yet understand Elphaba’s feelings. The promise gives more context to Elphaba’s later invitation to Glinda while keeping their friendship, rather than an openly discussed romance, at the center of the exchange.

“Train Ride to Emerald City”: time together before the story turns
Erivo said they filmed much more on the train and that she enjoyed the moment. The extra offers a little more time with Elphaba and Glinda together as they travel toward the Emerald City, before the story’s next changes in their relationship. That character effect is distinct from Erivo’s account of enjoying the filming; the latter does not explain why the material was shortened or removed.

A report on Peacock’s March 21, 2025 streaming launch said its collection included the deleted scenes. That is a dated availability report, not confirmation of the current catalog in a particular country. The sequel’s home release is separate: Universal announced digital availability for Wicked: For Good on December 30, 2025, and physical formats for January 20, 2026.
