Céline Dion appeared in a pregame Sunday Night Football promo ahead of the Pittsburgh Steelers–Dallas Cowboys game on October 6, 2024. The video paired archival highlights of the teams’ rivalry with Dion’s 1996 hit “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now,” turning football nostalgia into the spot’s central idea. It was a promotional video, not a reported live performance at the game.
What happened in the promo?
The spot connected football’s emotional pull with the themes of Dion’s song. As footage from past Steelers–Cowboys games played, Dion reflected on the way the sport can link people to their memories and to who they were. “I think my favourite thing about this game is its power to connect who we are to who we were,” she said in the promo, as quoted by Daily Hive.

The official Sunday Night Football post, reproduced by TVA Nouvelles, teased the theme with the line, “Sometimes, some nights, it all just comes back.” The finished video ended with Dion being doused in Gatorade, borrowing the familiar image of a football celebration.
Why did the promo feature the Steelers and Cowboys?
The video aired before the teams’ October 6, 2024, Sunday night game. Rather than present the matchup as only a current contest, it drew on archival game footage to evoke the teams’ history. That visual history worked alongside “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now”: both the song and the game footage called up memories, giving the promo its shared theme of the past returning in the present. The matchup and the promo’s use of the song and archive footage are also described by Stereogum.

An earlier game-day teaser showed Dion wearing a sweatshirt bearing the names of the two teams and Converse shoes, with an “everything comes back” hint. Those are reported wardrobe details, not evidence of a clothing or footwear endorsement. The teaser preceded the completed promo, which paired the archival game clips with Dion’s song and ended with the Gatorade shower, according to Daily Hive.
