What happens at the end of Creature Commandos season 1?
Task Force M sets out to kill Princess Ilana based on Circe’s vision. During the mission, the team learns that Clayface had been impersonating Professor MacPherson, muddying the evidence surrounding MacPherson and Circe’s warning. The deception does not make Ilana innocent: the finale reveals that she really was a threat and had used Clayface to confuse the team’s understanding of the plot.

Nina enters the pool to kill Ilana, but their underwater struggle ends with Ilana stabbing Nina. Later, the Bride confronts Ilana, identifies her connection to Clayface, and shoots her before Ilana can reach a gun. The Bride’s choice is both tactical and personal: she believes Ilana is dangerous, and Ilana has just killed Nina, whom the Bride calls her only friend. The episode’s climax is therefore not simply a mission successfully completed; it is also the Bride acting out of grief and loyalty.
Who dies in the finale, and who survives?
Nina Mazursky
Nina dies after Ilana fatally stabs her in the pool. Her death is the finale’s central loss and changes the team’s moral center.

Princess Ilana
The Bride shoots Ilana in the head after confronting her about the plot and Nina’s death. In June 2025, James Gunn addressed the possibility of Ilana returning by saying, “In the DCU, if you die, you’re dead,” and, “It’s the way I’ve always done it.” That is Gunn’s stated approach to the character’s fate; it should not be read as a claim about every possible flashback, alternate timeline, or future DCU story. (GamesRadar+’s report on Gunn’s statement)
Eric Frankenstein
Eric survives. Although the Bride shoots him repeatedly and he falls, the mid-credits scene shows him recovering while an older woman cares for him. The scene answers whether the Bride killed him; it does not confirm what he intends to do next.
Rick Flag Sr.
Flag Sr. briefly wakes from his coma and tells Waller she was wrong to trust Circe and MacPherson, then loses consciousness again. He survives, but his immediate recovery is unresolved at the end of the season.
The team at the close
The new lineup is led by the Bride and includes Weasel, Doctor Phosphorus, upgraded G.I. Robot, King Shark, Nosferata, and Khalis. Nina is dead, and Flag Sr. is not available to lead the team at the close. (TVLine’s finale recap)

Is there a post-credits scene?
Yes. Episode 7 has a mid-credits scene: Eric Frankenstein is alive and being nursed back to health by an older woman, echoing the earlier story of his recovery. The scene establishes his survival but leaves his future intentions open; any prediction that he will continue pursuing the Bride is inference, not confirmed season-two plot.
Before the finale aired, James Gunn confirmed that it would include a post-credits scene. When asked, he replied, “The season finale will, yes.” That reported comment confirmed the scene’s existence, not its contents. (ComicBook.com’s report on Gunn’s comment)
Will there be a Creature Commandos season 2?
Yes. Max announced season 2 in December 2024. A GamesRadar+ report carrying information through May 2026 says showrunner Dean Lorey shared that the opening episode is titled “Starry Night” and described the season as becoming something special. The material available does not establish a release date, episode count, or full season-two plot, so those details remain unknown. (GamesRadar+’s season 2 update)
What do the DC location references mean?
A news report in the finale mentions Star City, Metropolis, and Bludhaven. These are references to familiar DC locations and may prompt viewers to wonder about Green Arrow, Superman, or Nightwing. They are Easter eggs, not confirmation that any of those characters will appear in a future episode. (TechRadar’s finale explainer)
