Chick-fil-A followed through on its reported move into entertainment: it launched Chick-fil-A Play on November 18, 2024. The free app has original shows, games, audio, recipes, crafts and interactive stories. It has streaming features, but it is better understood as a branded family-entertainment hub than as a Netflix-style subscription service.
What Chick-fil-A announced—and what launched
On October 21, 2024, Chick-fil-A announced the Chick-fil-A Play App, with a planned launch date of November 18. The app became available on that date. The original announcement described an experience for parents and children to share, organized around watching, playing, creating, listening and reading. Its initial slate included animated shows, scripted podcasts, games, recipes, crafts, animated books and interactive stories. What kind of streaming service is Chick-fil-A Play?
Play includes on-demand video and original programs, but video is only one part of the offering. Chick-fil-A describes it as a free digital playground for family-friendly shows, games, activities, audio, recipes, crafts and animated books. There is no subscription price or paid tier identified in the company’s current Play overview.
That makes “streaming service” technically understandable but incomplete: Play is a Chick-fil-A-branded family-content app, not a broad, paid catalog intended to replace a general entertainment streamer. Its appeal depends on whether your family wants short, family-oriented activities and Chick-fil-A characters, rather than a large library of unrelated films and series.

Legends of Evergreen Hills
This animated series follows Chick-fil-A’s cow characters in the Evergreen Hills setting. Chick-fil-A says its second season brought five new episodes to the Play App. The company’s viewing information covers the series and where to watch it.
Play It Forward
This is an unscripted family game show, rather than an animated series. Its five episodes feature families in physical and sports-themed challenges; the contestants give their winnings to a local community hero. Episodes run approximately 30 minutes, and Chick-fil-A local Owner-Operator Andrew Allman hosts. The show was created and produced with Glassman Media and Sugar23. Chick-fil-A lists it on Play and YouTube in its announcement and availability FAQ.
Cow Squad and Cowz World
In June 2026, Chick-fil-A announced Cow Squad, an animated series featuring Daisy, Sarge and Carrots. The episodes are described as seven-minute “Code Moo” adventures. The same update introduced Cowz World, an interactive game—not a show—within Play. Details appear in Chick-fil-A’s 2026 Play update.

The launch slate included Hidden Island, a scripted podcast, as well as animated shorts and stories connected to Evergreen Hills. Recipes, cooking videos, crafts, games, family conversation prompts, interactive stories and animated books round out the mix. These formats are part of the app’s wider activity offering, not additional television series.
How to access it
- Get Chick-fil-A Play. Chick-fil-A says the app is available through the App Store and Google Play; its Play page describes the current offering.
- Choose a format. The app groups its experience into Watch, Play, Create, Listen and Read. The original launch announcement noted that animated content was designed for shared viewing on a tablet or for casting to a television.
- Use YouTube for some programming. Play It Forward is available there as well as in the Play App; that availability does not establish that the app’s entire catalog is on YouTube.
Chick-fil-A Play is separate from the standard Chick-fil-A ordering and rewards app. The regular app can redirect users to Play, but it does not replace the dedicated app, according to the company’s support page.
Who might find it useful—and its limits
- A reasonable fit: families looking for free, family-oriented videos and activities, especially content intended for parents and children to enjoy together.
- Not a substitute for a large streamer: Play is centered on Chick-fil-A’s own characters and brand, and its catalog is much smaller than established subscription platforms. Chick-fil-A does not provide a complete centralized list of every title in the official materials cited here.
- Check device compatibility: The cited materials confirm app-store availability, but do not establish availability on every device, in every country, or on every smart-TV platform. Features and catalog may also change over time.
Privacy and child use
Because Play is aimed at families and children, parents should review the app’s current permissions and Play privacy policy before letting a child use it. Chick-fil-A’s policy discusses information collection and use and says the experience is designed to comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act. “Family-friendly” does not mean data-free, and the policy is the relevant place to check how information is handled.

Why Chick-fil-A is making entertainment
Chick-fil-A says Play is meant to extend family fun beyond its restaurants, including for families ordering through drive-thru or delivery who may miss the dine-in or playground experience. The company frames the app as an extension of its family and kids’ meal experience in its 2026 update.

There is also a clear business logic, though it is an interpretation rather than a disclosed financial objective: original characters, games and activities give Chick-fil-A ways to engage parents and children between restaurant visits and to circulate branded content through its own app and platforms such as YouTube. The company has not established that this makes Play a conventional subscription competitor.

If the app is not working
Chick-fil-A’s troubleshooting guidance recommends checking Wi-Fi or cellular service, updating the app, then closing and reopening it. If the issue continues, contact Chick-fil-A CARES.
