Yes—if your phone is managing a cloud service that runs the broadcast. You can also start or schedule an ordinary mobile live stream in YouTube’s app, but that makes the phone the camera and encoder; YouTube’s mobile guidance does not establish that the app can sustain an unattended 24/7 prerecorded stream. For a continuous loop, upload the videos to a cloud streaming service, connect your YouTube channel, and manage the setup from your phone while the service runs it.
First decide what you mean by “from my phone”
There are two different setups: your phone can send the live video, or it can control a service that sends it for you. YouTube describes mobile streaming as suitable for quick updates from a phone or tablet, while its overview also recognizes encoder streaming as a more flexible production method. Can YouTube’s mobile app run a continuous 24/7 stream?
YouTube supports creating or scheduling mobile live streams and starting a scheduled stream in its app. Its published mobile guidance does not say that the phone app will keep a prerecorded broadcast running unattended around the clock. Check eligibility before planning a mobile broadcast
- Your channel must be verified.
- You need at least 50 subscribers.
- Your channel must not have live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days.
- You need a supported phone or tablet.
- First-time activation can take up to 24 hours.
These requirements apply to YouTube mobile live streaming. They do not turn a mobile broadcast into an unattended prerecorded loop. Use this route when you intend to film or perform live from the phone, and schedule from the app if that suits the event.

Other cloud workflows differ in their constraints. Gyre describes uploading videos, creating a playlist, connecting YouTube, and running the loop in its cloud; its features and plan limits can change. OneStream documents a 24-hour stream created in its mobile app, but its help page specifies Enterprise access and a maximum duration of 30 days. Check each provider’s current terms, including duration and plan limits, before relying on it.

Using YouTube’s encoder route instead
An encoder is the relevant do-it-yourself approach when the source is a live camera or a production setup. It sends the feed to YouTube; it does not provide the same hands-off cloud looping of uploaded files. YouTube advises checking the preview and monitoring your stream setup.
- Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room and create or select the stream.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key shown in the stream settings into your encoder.
- Configure the encoder’s output for the production you intend to send, then start its feed and check the Live Control Room preview before depending on the stream.
- Keep monitoring the viewer-facing stream and the encoder or service status during operation.
Treat the key as a password. YouTube describes stream keys as “your YouTube stream’s password and address.” Do not share it publicly; if it is exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube’s live settings and update the encoder. Details are in YouTube’s stream-settings guidance.

Copyright, archives, and continuity checks
Confirm rights before looping
A streaming service does not grant permission to rebroadcast a documentary, soundtrack, archive clip, or other video. Confirm that you have the necessary rights for every video and audio track, and check YouTube’s current rules before scheduling a continuous stream. A loop can repeatedly expose the channel to the same rights issue; using a cloud host does not change that.
Make a separate archive plan for long broadcasts
YouTube says encoder streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not assume the same archive outcome for streams lasting 12 hours or longer. If retaining a recording matters, plan a separate recording or archive workflow rather than relying on the stream’s automatic archive.

Verify the feed, not just the setup screen
- Preview the stream in Live Control Room before treating it as ready.
- For a cloud loop, confirm the actual YouTube viewer-facing stream is playing the expected content.
- Check the service’s status tools and current maximum-duration rules.
- For unattended use, check the live feed periodically; no independent uptime figure is established for the cloud services described here.

Which method fits your channel?
- Live from the phone: use YouTube mobile when you are filming or broadcasting in person and meet the eligibility rules.
- Prerecorded content, no PC at home: use a cloud service to run the playlist; manage it from your phone.
- Camera production with controls or overlays: use an encoder and monitor the YouTube preview and feed.
For an always-on prerecorded channel, your phone can be the control point, but it is not the broadcast engine. A cloud service is what removes the need to keep a computer or the phone itself sending video around the clock.
