You need rights to every part of the video, must follow YouTube’s live-stream and content policies, and may need to disclose a paid promotion or other commercial relationship. Whether a particular stream is lawful depends on the rights, presentation, commercial arrangement, audience and applicable jurisdiction.
Four separate questions determine whether a loop is safe to run
A stream can work technically and still raise copyright, platform-policy or advertising issues. Assess these separately rather than treating a stream key or successful broadcast as proof of permission.
- Rights: Do you have the necessary rights to use and livestream the footage, music, product images, logos, voice-over and other material?
- YouTube policy: Does the stream comply with YouTube’s live-stream terms, Community Guidelines and applicable content policies?
- Commercial disclosure: Is there a sponsorship, payment, free product or other relationship that viewers should know about?
- Local law: What rules apply where the stream is directed or available, and where the creator and brand operate?
YouTube’s livestream terms and conditions require creators to have the necessary rights to exploit live content and to comply with applicable laws and regulations. Those terms also require live content to comply with the Community Guidelines. They do not, in the cited wording, announce a categorical permission or prohibition on looping prerecorded demos.
Clear the rights to the whole recording
If you made the demo yourself, verify that you also control or have permission for every element included in it. A product recording can incorporate music, stock footage, graphics, photographs, narration or other material whose rights belong to someone else. A license should cover the intended use, including livestreaming and any relevant territories or commercial use; do not assume that permission for one use automatically covers another.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. - 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
If the footage belongs to a manufacturer, agency, creator or another channel, obtain permission that covers your use. Permission to broadcast does not by itself guarantee YouTube monetization: YouTube’s reused-content review is separate from copyright permission.
Product claims matter too. In the United States, the Federal Trade Commission says endorsers should not describe product experiences they have not had or make claims requiring proof they do not possess. Keep the demo accurate and substantiate claims about performance, benefits or results.

Label the replay honestly and avoid misleading viewers
A prerecorded demonstration should not be presented in a way that falsely implies that actions, product availability, results or audience interaction are happening in real time. Make the replay status clear to viewers—for example, in the stream title or description and, where practical, on-screen. This is a prudent way to avoid misleading presentation; YouTube’s cited rules do not establish that every unlabeled loop automatically violates policy.
YouTube’s spam, deceptive practices and scams policy applies across content types and identifies deceptive or repetitive practices as policy concerns. Consider whether a repeated broadcast could confuse viewers about what is live, what the product does or how they can interact.

Declare paid promotions and check the law that applies
If the demo includes a paid promotion or another relationship that YouTube treats as branded content, use YouTube Studio’s paid-promotion declaration. YouTube’s branded-content policies apply to live streams and make clear that creators remain responsible for ensuring disclosures are clear and prominent. The platform declaration does not replace any additional disclosure required by local law.
For a U.S.-directed endorsement, the FTC’s endorsement guidance says a material connection that could affect how viewers evaluate an endorsement should be disclosed. Examples include payment and receiving a free product. The FTC revised its Endorsement Guides in June 2023. Other jurisdictions may impose different or additional requirements, so a U.S. disclosure approach is not a worldwide legal answer.

Understand the separate monetization risk
YouTube says monetization policies apply to live streams. Its channel monetization policies assess whether content is original and authentic. Reused material without significant original commentary, substantive modification, or educational or entertainment value may make a channel ineligible for monetization—even if the creator has permission to use it.
On July 15, 2025, YouTube renamed its “repetitious content” policy “inauthentic content” and clarified that repetitive or mass-produced content is covered. That is a monetization-policy concern, not a finding that a particular loop is illegal. A stream composed of repeated demos may therefore face monetization scrutiny depending on how the channel’s content is made and presented; the cited policy does not predict the outcome for an individual channel.

Use this pre-stream checklist
- Identify the source of every element. Record who created the video, music, graphics, images and narration, and who owns or controls the relevant rights.
- Confirm the permissions. Check that licenses or written permissions cover livestream use, commercial use where relevant, and the intended territories. Replace or remove anything whose rights are unclear.
- Review the claims. Confirm that product statements are accurate and supported, and that the presenter does not claim personal experience they did not have.
- Make the format clear. Tell viewers that the demo is prerecorded; avoid suggesting that a recorded action, result or interaction is occurring live.
- Declare the commercial relationship. Use YouTube Studio’s paid-promotion declaration when applicable, and determine whether the relevant jurisdiction requires a separate or more prominent disclosure.
- Assess monetization independently. Consider whether the channel adds meaningful original commentary or other value, rather than relying on permission alone to establish monetization eligibility.
- Check the applicable rules. YouTube requires compliance with applicable law. If the territory, rights chain or commercial arrangement is uncertain, get jurisdiction-specific legal advice before broadcasting.
