No—not through the old Roku Channel promotion. Roku offered all of Severance season 1 free from January 17 through January 19, 2025, but that limited-time event is over. As of August 18, 2026, no current official source confirms that season 1 is free on The Roku Channel. On a compatible Roku device, the regular viewing route is the Apple TV app; eligible new subscribers may see a seven-day trial, subject to the terms shown when they sign up.
What the free Roku offer included
Roku and Apple ran a short promotion called the “Severance Free Fan Experience.” The Roku Channel carried the complete first season from January 17 to January 19, 2025. Roku said viewers did not need a subscription, and its shareholder letter described the episodes as available without ads. The event also included a season-two preview, character introductions, behind-the-scenes material and an Apple TV+ offer for eligible new subscribers. That three-month offer ended February 3, 2025. The offer was access to a specific title on The Roku Channel for a specific weekend—not a permanent benefit of owning a Roku TV or player, and not an ongoing Apple TV+ subscription. The Roku Channel and Apple TV are separate services. The Roku Channel still has free programming, but its catalog changes; an old promotion does not mean every Apple Original is part of its current free catalog.

- From the Roku home screen, open Search or the Streaming Store and search for Apple TV.
- Add or open the Apple TV app, then sign in with an Apple Account or create one.
- Search for Severance inside the Apple TV app.
- If you are eligible, review the trial offer and billing terms shown at signup. Otherwise, a subscription is required to stream the series.
Menu wording can differ by Roku model, software version and region. Apple’s U.S. offer page lists Severance in its catalog and advertises a seven-day trial for eligible new subscribers. A trial is temporary, not permanent free access: eligibility may depend on your Apple Account and prior offers, a payment method may be required, and the subscription may renew automatically. Check the renewal date and price displayed at checkout. Apple press material has listed a $12.99 monthly price, but prices and offers can change, so confirm the current amount before subscribing.

Check for a Roku-specific offer
You can check personalized offers at my.roku.com/offers or Roku’s subscription deals page. An account-specific trial or discount may be available, but it is not the expired 2025 Roku Channel event, and eligibility and renewal terms apply.
If you start a subscription through Roku, billing and cancellation may be managed through Roku; if you subscribe directly through Apple, manage it through Apple. Before accepting any trial, note who is billing you and when it converts to a paid plan. For a Roku-billed subscription, Roku provides purchase-history and invoice information at my.roku.com. Cancel before renewal if you do not want to continue, and check the applicable terms for when access ends.

If the show or Apple TV app does not appear
- Check the app: Search from the Roku home screen, then search again inside the Apple TV app. The Roku Channel and Apple TV are different destinations.
- Check the result’s service: A Roku search result may point to an app or subscription. Do not assume that a title is free just because it appears in search.
- Check device and region: Apple TV app availability depends on Roku model, software and country. Search the Streaming Store, restart the device, and check for a system update. If the app is not supported, try Apple’s web player on a supported browser.
- Check trial eligibility and billing: A previous Apple TV trial or subscription may affect eligibility. Confirm the billing provider, renewal date and price before proceeding.
The original Roku promotion was U.S.-focused, and availability, prices and offers can differ by country. The Roku Channel itself is available on Roku devices and, in some markets and on supported devices, through its website, mobile app and certain third-party TVs and streaming devices; that broader access does not revive the expired Severance event. Roku owners can still watch the series on a compatible device through Apple TV, but the old no-subscription Roku Channel weekend is history. A trial may reduce the cost for an eligible viewer who watches within its window; it is not a guarantee of ongoing free access.
