Camilla Row, the wife of Hallmark actor Brennan Elliott, died on March 22, 2025, at age 45. Elliott announced her death in an Instagram tribute, describing Row’s illness as stage 4 gastric cancer and saying that she had suffered for approximately eight years.

What Brennan Elliott said about Camilla Row’s death

Elliott shared the news in a social-media tribute after Row died earlier that morning, according to reports from CNN and USA TODAY. In the tribute, he mourned Row as his wife, soulmate, best friend and the mother of their children. Those descriptions come from Elliott’s own public statement.

The death report is historical rather than breaking news. Row died on March 22, 2025, and later coverage described Elliott’s return to Hallmark in A Castle of Our Own as his first Hallmark movie since her death.

When was Camilla Row diagnosed with stomach cancer?

Row was diagnosed with stomach cancer in 2018, according to a patient-story account published by the Stomach Cancer Awareness Network. City of Hope’s Orange County profile, published before her death, stated that Row was diagnosed at age 39 and was the mother of two children.

In her published account, Row said that persistent reflux and heartburn preceded her diagnosis. She described the disease as an aggressive diffuse stomach cancer, specifically identified in that account as signet-ring-cell carcinoma. These are details from Row’s account and should not be interpreted to mean that reflux or heartburn invariably indicates cancer. Those symptoms can have many causes, and persistent or concerning symptoms should be assessed by a qualified clinician.

Her treatment included stomach-removal surgery and chemotherapy

Row’s account said she underwent a total gastrectomy, a major operation involving removal of the stomach, along with removal of 47 lymph nodes. She also reported completing eight rounds of FOLFOX chemotherapy.

Her story later included a recurrence in the ovaries. The account said doctors determined that the ovarian cancer had originated from the stomach cancer and that Row underwent surgery to remove the affected ovaries and fallopian tubes. Her experience was an individual cancer journey, not a typical or predictable course for everyone with gastric cancer.

City of Hope reported in 2023 that Row had tested cancer-free after several years of treatment. That earlier update does not conflict with reports of her later death: cancer status can change over time, and the 2023 profile predates the later deterioration described in 2025 coverage.

Row’s advocacy and City of Hope connection

City of Hope’s profile described Row as a former Orange County resident who remained committed to cancer awareness and advocacy. The profile also noted that she was of Asian descent and had undergone multiple surgeries and chemotherapy during her treatment.

Row’s patient account mentioned a CDH1 variant of uncertain significance. That wording is important. A variant of uncertain significance is not the same as a confirmed harmful inherited mutation or a diagnosis of a hereditary cancer syndrome. City of Hope explains that CDH1 changes may be inherited or acquired and that their meaning requires professional genetic evaluation.

Who was Brennan Elliott’s wife?

Row was married to Canadian actor Brennan Elliott. Entertainment reports have said that the couple married in 2011 and had two children. A 2018 Hallmark Home & Family item referred to Elliott’s real-life wedding while discussing All of My Heart: The Wedding; the specific 2011 date is best treated as a detail from secondary reporting rather than as a date independently confirmed by Hallmark in that item.

Elliott is known for Hallmark films and television projects including the All of My Heart and Crossword Mysteries franchises. Hallmark’s biography also lists his work in the television series UnREAL.

What is known about the cause of death?

Public reports identify Row’s illness as stage 4 gastric cancer, based on Elliott’s tribute and coverage of her medical journey. No reliable public account in the available reporting establishes a more precise immediate cause of death or describes her final days in detail. It would therefore be inappropriate to speculate about those matters.

Similarly, Row’s experience does not establish that a particular treatment caused or prevented her death, that early diagnosis guarantees survival, or that any single symptom predicts gastric cancer. The publicly documented facts are that she was diagnosed in 2018, underwent extensive treatment, experienced a later recurrence, and died in 2025 at age 45.
