That does not mean Harry Bosch has disappeared from television. Season 3 ends the Bosch: Legacy series, but Titus Welliver’s Bosch continues into the follow-up series Ballard.
What happened to Bosch: Legacy Season 3?
The original announcement that Season 3 was “coming in 2025” was accurate when it was published, but it is now outdated. Michael Connelly announced on September 6, 2024, that Season 3 would be the third and final season of Bosch: Legacy. The announcement brought the television adaptation of Harry Bosch to a combined 10 seasons: seven seasons of Bosch and three seasons of Bosch: Legacy. Amazon then released the season on Prime Video in four batches. The first four episodes arrived on March 27, 2025, and the complete season concluded on April 17. The official About Amazon announcement confirms the 10-episode count, premiere date, release cadence, story setup, and international launch.

Bosch: Legacy Season 3 is streaming on Prime Video. Amazon says the season premiered in more than 240 countries and territories, although the precise catalog, subscription terms, advertising arrangements, pricing, language tracks, and accessibility options can vary by market.
In the United States, the current listing is Prime Video rather than a separate Freevee release. The first two seasons were closely associated with Freevee, which is why older articles may still describe the show as a Freevee original. That branding can cause confusion, but viewers looking for Season 3 should search Prime Video.
The Prime Video listing gives the episodes approximate runtimes of 43 to 53 minutes, with the finale listed at about 45 minutes. It also lists features such as English audio description, Dialogue Boost, and alternate-language audio tracks, but those options are not necessarily identical in every territory.

- Follow-home robberies: Maddie Bosch and Detective Reina Vasquez investigate a violent series of follow-home robberies.
The season also draws on material from two Connelly novels: The Black Ice, published in 1993, and Desert Star, published in 2022. It is more accurate to say that the series uses plot elements from those books than to call Season 3 a scene-for-scene adaptation. The television season gives substantial attention to Maddie, Chandler, and the eventual crossover with Renée Ballard.

Why was Bosch: Legacy ending after Season 3?
The confirmed fact is that Season 3 was announced as the final season before it premiered. Amazon and the producers did not provide a detailed public explanation for the decision in the sources available for this article.
Titus Welliver later said that the creative team had discussed ideas for a possible fourth season during production before Amazon decided that those plans would not move forward. That means Season 4 conversations existed, but they were not a renewal, an active production order, or evidence that a fourth season is secretly being made.
