The team viewing guides generally listed the game at 8 p.m. Eastern / 7 p.m. Central. The Chiefs’ official event timeline recorded kickoff at 7:10 p.m. Central, or 8:10 p.m. Eastern. That explains why contemporary listings differed by 10 minutes; it does not indicate that two different games were being advertised. Where the game originally aired in the United States
The answer depended on the viewer’s location. Outside the two local team markets, Peacock was the primary legal live-TV route. In Miami–Fort Lauderdale and Kansas City, local NBC affiliates carried the game instead.
Miami–Fort Lauderdale
Viewers in the Miami–Fort Lauderdale television market could watch on WTVJ/NBC 6 with an antenna or through a cable or satellite package that included the station. They did not need a separate Peacock subscription simply because the national broadcast was a Peacock exclusive.

Kansas City
Viewers in the Kansas City market could watch on KSHB 41 through an antenna or an existing pay-TV package. Kansas City-area coverage specifically distinguished that local broadcast from the Peacock stream and noted that a normal local-TV connection could be enough.
Everywhere else in the U.S.
For viewers outside those two markets, a conventional cable or satellite package did not generally provide the national game. The main live option was Peacock Premium. It was not nationwide NBC network carriage: the local affiliate exceptions were limited to the Miami–Fort Lauderdale and Kansas City markets.
A Dolphins fan elsewhere in Florida, or a Chiefs fan elsewhere in Missouri, could not automatically assume that the local affiliate carried the game. Local-market rights follow the designated television market, not the state where a fan lives.
Which Peacock plan was enough?
Peacock Premium was sufficient for the live game. Peacock Premium Plus was not required merely to watch Dolphins–Chiefs. Premium Plus offered additional benefits such as fewer advertisements in on-demand programming, downloads and access to a local NBC channel where available, but it was an optional upgrade rather than a requirement for the national game.

Those prices were the prices reported for the January 2024 broadcast and should not be mistaken for current Peacock pricing. Peacock’s listing checked on August 9, 2026 showed Premium at $10.99 per month and Premium Plus at $16.99 per month. Since this game has already been played, paying for a current subscription will not turn it into a live event. Check the current Peacock plans before subscribing for any replay or other programming.
There was no standard nationwide free Peacock trial being offered for this broadcast at the time. Temporary promotions, team giveaways or special offers should not be confused with a permanent free viewing option.

Historical Peacock sign-up steps
The contemporaneous sign-up path was:
- Open Peacock and select Pick a Plan.
- Choose monthly or annual Premium or Premium Plus.
- Enter the requested name, email address, birth date and payment information.
- Sign in and open the live game listing.
Peacock’s labels and interface can change, so these are historical instructions rather than a promise that every button still has the same name. The original sign-up and cancellation guide documents the January 2024 process.
Watching on a television, computer or phone
Peacock supported web browsers, iOS and Android devices, Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, Google TV, Samsung and LG smart TVs, PlayStation, Xbox and other platforms. For current compatibility, use Peacock’s official supported-devices page rather than relying on a frozen 2024 device list.

The practical order for a living-room viewer was:
- Install the Peacock app on a supported smart TV or streaming device.
- Use the Peacock website in a supported desktop browser.
- Use the Peacock mobile app on a phone or tablet.
- Use NFL+ only if mobile viewing was acceptable.
- Use WTVJ or KSHB with an antenna or existing TV service if located in the appropriate local market.

How cancellation worked
If the subscription was purchased directly from Peacock, the historical cancellation path was:
- Sign in to Peacock.
- Open the profile avatar.
- Select Account.
- Under Plans & Payments, choose Change or Cancel Plan.
- Select Cancel Plan and confirm.
A subscription bought through Apple, Google, Roku, Amazon or another third-party billing system may need to be canceled through that company instead of through Peacock. Check the billing provider shown on the account.
Could NFL+ be used to watch the game?
Yes, but only as a mobile live-viewing option. NFL+ provided live local and primetime postseason games on supported phones and tablets. It was not a normal unrestricted replacement for Peacock on a living-room television.

Current NFL support continues to distinguish mobile live access from television access. Live local and primetime postseason games are limited to phones and tablets, and the service may not be cast to a television. Therefore, anyone asking whether NFL+ solved the TV problem should get a clear answer: NFL+ was suitable for phone or tablet viewing, not as a guaranteed TV stream. NFL+ Premium is more relevant now for a replay search. NFL says Premium includes full and condensed replays, but its support language does not guarantee that every game from the 2024 postseason remains permanently available. Check the specific game in the NFL+ replay section before subscribing solely for this matchup.
How to watch Dolphins–Chiefs now
There is no current live broadcast to join. The most reliable legal route is to begin with official NFL and team pages:
- Open the official NFL game center. It provides the final score, statistics, game information and links into available video or replay material.
- Check the NFL official highlights page for a highlights package.
- Check the Chiefs official game center for the team recap, highlights, videos and postgame material.
- If a full game or condensed replay is required, check NFL+ Premium directly for this specific 2024 game.
A highlights video is not the same thing as a full-game replay. Likewise, the existence of an NFL+ replay feature does not prove that this particular archived postseason game is still available. Do not assume that Peacock still carries the complete game simply because it carried the original live broadcast.

International rights were different from U.S. rights and have changed since the game was played. For the original broadcast, the Chiefs’ viewing information described NFL Game Pass International as the route outside the United States, Canada and China, with blackout restrictions affecting the United Kingdom and Ireland. Contemporaneous coverage identified DAZN/Game Pass for Canada.
For a replay search now, identify the viewer’s country first. Current NFL guidance directs international viewers toward DAZN, but the available archive and blackout rules depend on the country and the rights holder. Do not reuse the 2024 Game Pass instructions as a universal current answer; verify the local DAZN or other authorized provider listing.

Radio and audio-only options
Listeners had several legal radio choices during the original game:
- National: Westwood One.
- Miami English: BIG 105.9 FM/WBGG and WINZ 940 AM.
- Miami Spanish: TU 94.9 FM/WTZU.
- Kansas City: WDAF 106.5 FM and KCSP 610 AM.
- Chiefs Spanish broadcast: Available through the Audacy app.

- Assuming everyone needed Peacock: Not quite. WTVJ and KSHB provided local-market access in Miami–Fort Lauderdale and Kansas City.
- Assuming every Dolphins or Chiefs fan received the local broadcast: Local availability followed the television market, not team allegiance or the entire state.
- Assuming cable automatically unlocked Peacock: A cable or satellite subscription was not a nationwide substitute for the Peacock stream. It helped only when it included the relevant local affiliate.
- Buying NFL Sunday Ticket: Sunday Ticket was not the answer to this Saturday night national Peacock distribution.
- Expecting the KSHB website or app to stream the game: Contemporaneous KSHB information said the game would not be available on its website or app. The local broadcast was through the station’s television signal, not an unrestricted web stream.
- Using a VPN as a viewing plan: A VPN can cause incorrect local-feed assignment, violate platform terms or fail when sports rights are location-sensitive. It is not a reliable legal workaround.
- Confusing Premium Plus with a requirement: Premium was enough for the national live stream in 2024.
- Confusing a local NBC feed with nationwide NBC carriage: The game was not simply available on the NBC network across the country.
- Confusing a replay with highlights: Confirm whether the page offers a full game, condensed game or short highlights package.
Peacock’s local NBC feed is also geolocation-sensitive. The service assigns a local channel based on the streaming device’s location, and the available feed can change when that device changes location. Its local-channel guidance explains the principle.

Did I need Peacock if I lived in Miami or Kansas City?
Not necessarily. A viewer in the Miami–Fort Lauderdale market could use WTVJ/NBC 6, and a viewer in the Kansas City market could use KSHB 41. Fans elsewhere in Florida or Missouri were not automatically covered by those local exceptions.
