As of October 4, 2026, Bluey Season 4 has not been officially announced, and no release date or production start has been confirmed in the sources cited here. Creator Joe Brumm says he is taking a break from the television series to focus on the Bluey movie—but he also says his letter is not an announcement that the show is ending.
Is Bluey Season 4 confirmed?
No. The official statements cited here do not confirm a fourth season, a production start, or a release window. That is different from a cancellation: Brumm explicitly said his letter was not an announcement that Bluey is ending. The status could change with a future announcement.

What Joe Brumm said about his future with the show
In his official letter, Bluey creator Joe Brumm said he would take a break from his involvement in the television series to focus on the film. He explained that he would not want to make another season unless he believed it could be as good as the last, and that this would have been his concern with a potential fourth season.
Brumm also wrote that if he cannot see himself making more seasons, The Sign will mark his television finale for Bluey. He immediately qualified that statement: “To be clear, this is not an announcement about the end of the show, but it is an acknowledgment that my focus will be on the film.” His comments describe his own break and uncertainty; they do not confirm a successor, a new season without him, or a cancellation. What is confirmed: the Bluey movie
The confirmed upcoming screen project is a feature film, not Season 4. BBC Studios announced on September 4, 2025, that the movie is scheduled for cinemas on August 6, 2027. Brumm is writing and directing; Ludo Studio is producing in collaboration with BBC Studios; Walt Disney Studios is handling theatrical distribution. BBC Studios’ announcement and The Walt Disney Company’s May 26, 2026 article give the same date. Neither announcement supplies a Season 4 date.
Do the shorts and other Bluey projects mean a new season?
No. Other franchise activity is separate from a confirmed television season:
Rank #2
- LEGO Bluey Shorts: BBC Studios announced 10 two-minute shorts, released weekly on official Bluey and LEGO channels and Bluey.tv. The announcement describes recreated moments from the existing series, not a new season. See the announcement.
- Licensed products and publishing: A BBC Studios update describes LEGO DUPLO Bluey sets, continuing book releases, music, and games. These are franchise projects, not confirmation of Season 4. Read the update.
Do the viewing figures indicate a renewal?
They show that Bluey has a large audience, but they are not renewal announcements. The Walt Disney Company reported that Nielsen measured more than 45 billion minutes of Bluey viewing on Disney+ in 2025. BBC Studios reported 4.8 billion minutes viewed on ABC iview in 2025 and more than 10 million Bluey books sold across 100 titles in Australia and New Zealand, attributing that publishing milestone to Penguin Random House Australia. None of those figures establishes that Season 4 has been approved. Disney’s article and BBC Studios’ update provide the figures and their context.
