Dave Portnoy and Josh Richards released “Smallest Man,” a diss track aimed at country singer Zach Bryan, in early November 2024. The release followed the public breakup of Bryan and Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia, Richards and Portnoy’s cohost on Barstool’s BFFs podcast. The track’s insults and allegations were the performers’ claims—not verified facts about Bryan.
Why did Portnoy and Richards release a diss track about Zach Bryan?
The immediate context was Bryan and LaPaglia’s breakup, which became public in late October 2024. Portnoy and Richards publicly sided with LaPaglia, their BFFs cohost, and directed “Smallest Man” at Bryan. TMZ’s coverage described the song and video as taking aim at the singer.

Why was the video and track removed?
The “Smallest Man” video was removed from YouTube. Us Weekly reported the video had been taken down on copyright grounds. Exclaim! later reported that the song was also removed from streaming services after a label copyright complaint over melodic similarities between its outro and Bryan’s “28,” from The Great American Bar Scene.
That explanation comes from reporting, not a located public statement by Bryan, his label, or a platform confirming the complaint or its basis. The removals are historical; current availability may vary by service.

What happened after “Smallest Man”?
Portnoy released another track, “Country Diddy,” on November 10, 2024. Us Weekly described it as continuing his defense of LaPaglia. Its video referred to LaPaglia’s claim that Bryan offered her money for an NDA, which she said she refused. That account is LaPaglia’s allegation; it was not independently verified in the cited coverage.
