Gyre’s official offering is for 24/7 prerecorded streaming to supported destinations. Its surfaced plans vary by simultaneous stream count, resolution, storage, playlist access, and scheduling. The pricing page showed Start at $49 monthly, Start+ at $99, and PRO+ at $169; verify current prices and the exact plan limits before subscribing. Treat claims about algorithm performance or channel growth as vendor marketing, not a guaranteed outcome.

OneStream Live — broader workflow, but confirm 24/7 eligibility
OneStream Live documents a YouTube-only 24/7 mode and says a stream can be scheduled for up to 30 days. Its guide describes the feature as an Enterprise capability, while a separate help article lists a YouTube-only add-on for up to three concurrent streams. Because those pages describe different eligibility routes, confirm the current offer and account requirements in checkout or with OneStream before building a migration plan.

Consider it if scheduled prerecorded broadcasts and a broader multistreaming workflow are useful. For a continuous channel, the key questions are whether the precise 24/7 feature is enabled on your plan, how many streams it permits, and whether the YouTube-only condition fits your distribution needs. The 30-day maximum is the duration stated in OneStream’s guide, updated 3 September 2026; it should not be read as an unlimited event.

Confirm that the current plan includes the exact playout mode, destination count, and bandwidth your channel requires.

StreamYard — for studio-led live shows, not an assumed endless loop
StreamYard is primarily a browser studio for live shows, guests, and multistreaming. The surfaced Core plan page lists limits on prerecorded-stream duration, including a two-hour limit, so do not treat it as an equivalent indefinite-loop service without confirming a suitable feature and plan directly with StreamYard. It may fit a people-forward documentary discussion or scheduled premiere-style show better than a channel whose core requirement is continuous prerecorded playback.

Wowza Streaming Engine — configurable infrastructure, not a verified Cloud substitute
Current Wowza product material describes Streaming Engine as configurable server software deployable on-premises, at the edge, in the cloud, or in air-gapped environments. Wowza says it can be used to build always-on channels and VOD libraries. That flexibility can suit teams needing control over ingest, processing, protocols, deployment, or integration, but it also means more configuration and infrastructure responsibility than a managed upload-and-loop service.
Wowza’s surfaced Basic Monthly price for Streaming Engine was $195 per month, including one instance and up to 10 concurrent transcoded channels. This is not a verified price for a product named Wowza Streaming Cloud. Confirm which Wowza product you currently use, its availability, migration path, and plan terms before treating Streaming Engine as a direct replacement.

Copyright and YouTube policy still apply to documentaries
A cloud service automates playback; it does not grant rights to the film, soundtrack, archive footage, narration, or other material you upload. Before looping a documentary, confirm that your license permits public online streaming on YouTube and continuous or repeated playback. A license for one screening, a local audience, or a limited term may not cover a 24/7 channel.
Keep records of licenses and permissions, check territorial and time limits, and make sure music and footage rights are covered separately where applicable. YouTube’s live setup and encoder requirements can change, so use its live encoder help for current platform-side instructions. Meeting technical requirements does not resolve copyright claims or guarantee that a channel complies with YouTube’s monetization and reused-content rules.
DIY or cloud: who owns recovery?
A PC or VPS can run a continuous encoder, but the operator is responsible for keeping the machine, network, encoder process, stream key, and monitoring healthy. Power loss, internet interruptions, software updates, expired credentials, and process crashes all require a recovery plan. For a self-managed setup, configure automatic process restart and alerting, protect the stream key, and test reconnection and playlist transitions before relying on it as a channel’s only output. A VPS moves the machine into a data center; it does not remove the need to configure, monitor, and maintain the streaming process.
