Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesIf you mean replaying a video while you watch YouTube, use YouTube’s built-in Loop control. If you mean broadcasting prerecorded footage repeatedly as a live stream, you need an encoder or a cloud streaming service. OBS is YouTube’s listed no-charge, open-source encoder option; for a cloud option, StreamNeo keeps an uploaded video or playlist running on YouTube without a computer left on.
First, distinguish playback looping from a live broadcast
YouTube’s Loop control repeats a video or playlist for the person watching it. It does not turn that video into a live broadcast. To stream prerecorded videos 24/7 on YouTube, a creator must send a video feed to YouTube Live using an encoder workflow or a cloud service.
Loop a video while watching YouTube
Repeat one video on desktop
- Open the video on YouTube.
- Right-click inside the video player.
- Select Loop. YouTube will repeat playback until you turn the control off.
Repeat a playlist
Use the repeat control in the playlist controls. This repeats the playlist for your viewing session; it does not create a live stream or publish anything to your channel.
Ways to stream prerecorded video continuously
For a creator broadcast, these options differ in where the stream runs, what cost is established, and how much operation remains your responsibility. StreamNeo is listed first because it runs an always-on YouTube stream from the cloud, accepts uploaded video at any quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, and gives a first day free.

| StreamNeo | Keeping uploaded videos or a playlist live on YouTube continuously from the cloud. | First day free, no card; paid plans vary by duration. See the current StreamNeo pricing. | It is a paid service after the free first day and is for uploaded video, not a live camera feed. |
| OBS | Sending a creator’s video feed to YouTube Live with an encoder running on a local computer. | YouTube describes OBS as open-source and available at no charge. | The computer and encoder must be configured and operated for the broadcast. The exact file-looping setup is not established here, so check current OBS guidance for that detail. |
| Gyre | Cloud-based 24/7 streaming of prerecorded videos. | Price and free-tier availability are not stated in YouTube’s official listing. | Check the current price and service terms before choosing it. |
Use OBS for a no-charge local encoder workflow
YouTube lists OBS as open-source software available at no charge. In this approach, OBS runs on your computer and sends its video feed to YouTube Live. YouTube’s encoder setup materials explain how to connect an encoder to a live stream. The available guidance establishes the broad workflow, but not the exact current OBS media-source or playlist controls for seamless repeated playback; consult OBS’s current documentation for those settings rather than assuming a file loops automatically.
- Confirm your channel can go live. YouTube says the channel must be verified and must not have had live-stream restrictions in the previous 90 days.
- Prepare the prerecorded video and encoder. Make sure you have rights to the footage and audio, and follow YouTube’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service. Configure your playback source using current OBS instructions.
- Connect OBS to YouTube Live. Follow YouTube’s encoder setup workflow and use the stream key from your YouTube live-stream setup. Treat the stream key as a password: do not publish it or share it.
- Preview before going live. Check the preview, audio and video quality, and whether viewers can reach the stream from your channel and watch page. Test with an unlisted or public stream as appropriate.
- Monitor the broadcast. Keep an eye on the encoder and YouTube’s live view so you can respond if the feed, audio, or connection fails. A local encoder workflow depends on the computer and its connection remaining available.

Channel eligibility and content rules
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-stream restriction in the preceding 90 days. Live content must comply with YouTube’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service. Having permission to stream material matters: looping footage does not remove copyright obligations. Reused-content and monetization decisions are separate from whether a stream can technically run, so do not assume that continuous playback makes a channel eligible for monetization.

Preview and test before a long broadcast
- Preview the stream before publishing and confirm both picture and sound.
- Check that the stream is accessible from the channel and watch pages, including on mobile.
- Monitor the stream after launch rather than assuming a successful start guarantees uninterrupted playback.
DVR limits for viewers
YouTube’s DVR feature can let viewers pause and rewind during a live stream, but DVR capabilities may be limited or unavailable on streams longer than 12 hours. Viewers also cannot seek to a point before the broadcast began.
