Google Cloud Compute Engine is a credible India-region candidate to shortlist for a remote 4K60 YouTube Live workstation: its official GPU location matrix lists GPU machine types in Mumbai and Delhi. That establishes regional options, not guaranteed capacity, a particular OBS workload’s performance, or that Google Cloud is the best-value choice. Check the instance, quota, encoder support, outbound connection and total cost, then test the whole stream path before relying on it.
A cloud GPU virtual machine (VM) can host desktop encoding software such as OBS. A managed video API is a different kind of service and should not be treated as a remote desktop or direct YouTube broadcast solution unless its input, output and workflow specifically support that use. The final encoding and ingest requirements still come from YouTube.
What to look for in an India cloud service
For a 4K60 broadcast, the provider’s GPU location is only one part of the decision. You need a VM that can run your source-capture and encoder setup, encode the chosen format, and deliver a stable outbound stream to YouTube. Google Cloud’s location matrix lists GPU machine types in Mumbai (asia-south1) and Delhi (asia-south2); the specific machine families vary by zone. A listing is not a guarantee of stock or quota when you try to provision an instance. Check Google Cloud’s GPU regions and zones.
- GPU and encoder: confirm the actual GPU supports hardware encoding for your chosen codec, and that your OS image, driver and encoder application support it.
- Zone capacity and quota: check the exact machine type and zone in the provider console. Do not infer availability from a regional listing alone.
- Source workflow: determine how the VM will receive video and audio, and verify that the capture method works in its operating system.
- Outbound delivery: confirm the VM can sustain the required upload rate to YouTube’s ingest endpoint. GPU location does not establish route quality.
- End-to-end cost: account for compute runtime, storage and network egress for the complete session. Current prices and charges depend on configuration and can change.
- Operations: plan how you will monitor the encoder, recover from interruption and keep the YouTube stream key secure.
The available official information does not establish a like-for-like comparison of current AWS, Azure or other providers’ Indian-region GPU inventory, 4K60 performance, YouTube-bound network quality or total session cost. Treat Google Cloud as a candidate to shortlist and test—not a proven winner across providers.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
How Google Cloud fits the shortlist
Google Cloud Compute Engine is the concrete India-region GPU option verified here: the location matrix includes G2 in Mumbai and G2 and G4 in listed Delhi zones. Which type is available depends on the zone, quota and capacity at provisioning time. The family name alone does not establish how well a VM will encode your particular source at 4K60.
Before committing, check the selected zone’s available machine type, GPU quota and stock; confirm the OS image and drivers support your encoder; and estimate compute, disk and egress charges for the whole event. Then run a representative test over the intended connection to YouTube. Do not choose solely by a provider’s generic GPU specification.

YouTube’s 4K60 ingest settings
YouTube’s encoder guidance supports 2160p at up to 60 fps. For 4K60, the cited recommendations are 35 Mbps for H.264 and a 10–40 Mbps range for AV1 and H.265. Follow the current codec-specific guidance in YouTube’s live encoder settings; available choices can depend on the ingest protocol and stream configuration.
- Protocol: YouTube recommends RTMPS as the secure ingest path. Use an encoder that supports it and handle the stream key as a secret.
- Frame rate and bitrate: set 2160p at 60 fps and use the recommendation for your selected codec. Keep the connection’s sustained upload comfortably above the chosen bitrate; a speed test helps assess the connection but does not guarantee uninterrupted delivery.
- Rate control and keyframes: YouTube lists constant bitrate encoding and a recommended two-second keyframe interval, not exceeding four seconds.
- Latency: YouTube’s low-latency option is unavailable for 2160p/4K, so a 4K60 stream uses normal latency. Set expectations accordingly if you plan to interact with viewers.
Configure and preflight the VM
- Provision the candidate instance. Select an India zone with the required GPU machine type, after checking current capacity and quota. Choose an OS image and driver combination supported by your encoding software.
- Set up the source path. Confirm the VM can capture or receive the actual video and audio you intend to stream. Check that the source reaches the encoder at the intended resolution and frame rate.
- Configure the encoder. Select 2160p at 60 fps, your codec’s current YouTube bitrate recommendation, constant bitrate mode, a two-second keyframe interval (never over four seconds), and RTMPS where supported. Enter the correct YouTube ingest endpoint and stream key.
- Run a representative test. Use footage with motion and audio similar to the planned event. Verify the encoder is not dropping or lagging frames, audio and video remain in sync, and the VM sustains the chosen upload bitrate with headroom.
- Inspect YouTube’s stream health. Test from the intended VM and network path, then check Live Control Room for health status and messages. YouTube advises testing before going live and monitoring stream health during the event.
- Prepare for interruption. Decide who will monitor the broadcast and how you will respond if the encoder, VM or connection fails. Confirm that your recovery steps do not expose or unnecessarily reuse the stream key.
A successful short test is useful evidence about your own configuration; it is not a guarantee that a longer event will remain uninterrupted.

When a hardware encoder is a better fit
If your workflow starts with a camera or HDMI source and you want a standalone device rather than encoding inside a cloud VM, Blackmagic Design lists the Streaming Encoder 4K with USB-C up to 2160p60 and YouTube among its supported destinations. It is production hardware, not a cloud service or a requirement for VM-based encoding. Check the manufacturer’s technical specifications against your connections and workflow, and verify current availability before purchase.
