StreamNeo is the first option to consider for uploaded videos and playlists: it keeps a YouTube stream running from the cloud, supports uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and offers a free first day. YoloCast and Castr also describe cloud-hosted continuous playout; YouTube Help lists Gyre as another option for prerecorded-video streams.
The services below are compared using their published descriptions and plans, not hands-on testing or independent uptime measurements. Features, limits, and prices can change, so check the linked provider pages before choosing.
Best cloud playout services for a continuous YouTube channel
- StreamNeo — best for uploaded videos and playlists with simple, always-on YouTube playout. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. StreamNeo runs the loop in the cloud, so your computer and home connection do not have to stay on. Any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps uses the same price per slot, and the first day is free.
- YoloCast — a candidate for looping one video or playing several consecutively. YoloCast describes a service-managed stream that can continue after you close your device. Check its plan matrix for the specific 24/7 mode, destinations, bandwidth, and storage included in your tier.
- Castr — a candidate for a programmed channel combining files and live sources. Castr describes server-side playout that can schedule uploaded videos, prior live recordings, and streams from its dashboard. Its file limits and costs vary by plan.
- Gyre — a specialist option listed by YouTube for 24/7 prerecorded-video streaming. YouTube says it works without a dedicated PC; current prices and limits are not established in the information available here.
These are not equivalent workflows. A single repeating recording, a sequential playlist, and a schedule that inserts live sources have different requirements. Confirm that a service and plan support the exact workflow you intend to run.
What cloud playout means—and what it does not
A true cloud playout service runs video playback and, where available, scheduling on provider servers. You configure the content and YouTube destination, then the provider sends the stream. Closing your browser or turning off your computer does not stop playback in a cloud-hosted workflow.

Do not confuse cloud playout with a browser-based production studio or a tool that merely controls an encoder running on your own machine. YouTube’s encoder-help page includes different kinds of tools; verify that the specific product supports unattended prerecorded-video playout, rather than only live production. YoloCast: check the distinction between 24/7 modes
YoloCast describes a workflow for choosing a source with a key and URL, selecting destinations including YouTube, and starting its service-managed stream. Its page says playback can continue after you close your device. That is a potentially simple fit for a loop or sequential playlist, but the plan comparison distinguishes “24*7 Live” from “24*7 Simulate Live.” Do not assume the two modes, or every destination and resource allowance, are included identically on every tier. Review the current YoloCast 24/7 workflow and plan comparison.

YoloCast’s plan comparison also displays the vendor’s cumulative claim of “More than 1,000,000 live stream events”; the page does not state the year for that figure. It is a vendor-published count, not an independently audited reliability measure.
Castr: a more programmatic playout schedule
Castr describes a schedule that can combine uploaded files, Live-to-VOD recordings, and streams from its dashboard. Its published file allowances vary by tier: Starter lists five files up to 500 MB and 30 minutes each; Standard, 10 files up to 1 GB and 60 minutes each; Premium, 30 files up to 2 GB and 60 minutes each; Ultra, 30 files up to 10 GB and 240 minutes each; and Events, 50 files up to 10 GB and 240 minutes each. Confirm those limits and the storage and bandwidth attached to the tier on Castr’s playout page and pricing page before relying on them; provider terms can change.

Castr lists YouTube alongside other delivery options, including Facebook, an embedded player, and custom RTMP/SRT destinations. See its platform overview.

How to prepare the YouTube channel and stream
Using a cloud service removes the need to leave a local encoder running for supported workflows; it does not prepare your YouTube channel or event for you. A Google/YouTube live-streaming guide advises enabling Live on a verified channel at least 24 hours in advance, testing the full setup as a private stream in YouTube Studio, and scheduling the stream.
- Check channel readiness. Verify the channel and enable live streaming in advance. Allow at least 24 hours, as advised by the Google/YouTube Live Streaming Guide.
- Prepare the video or schedule. Confirm that every file is accepted by the service and fits its file-size, duration, storage, and bandwidth limits. Decide whether the channel needs one looping file, a sequence, or scheduled live inserts.
- Create or schedule the YouTube stream. Use YouTube Studio to set up the event and choose the intended privacy setting while testing. Keep the stream key private; anyone who obtains it may be able to broadcast to your channel.
- Connect the cloud service. Follow the provider’s workflow to add the YouTube destination or key, select the content or schedule, and start the service-managed playout.
- Test privately before going public. Check picture, sound, sequence transitions, and the YouTube event itself. Confirm that playback continues after you close the browser or turn off your device, if that is the workflow you need.
- Schedule and monitor the public run. Review the first minutes after launch and periodically check that YouTube still shows the stream as live and the intended content is playing. Cloud hosting avoids keeping a home PC on; it does not eliminate channel preparation or monitoring.
Copyright, reused content, and channel policies
A service can transmit a file without granting rights to it. Before looping a documentary, music, archival footage, or other material, make sure you have the necessary rights or permission for the intended use. YouTube’s copyright and monetization policies still apply to continuous streams. Reusing content you did not create can also affect monetization eligibility; permission to upload is not, by itself, a guarantee that a channel meets YouTube’s reused-content requirements. Review the rules that apply to your channel and the material before scheduling a long-running broadcast.
Do not treat continuous playback as a way to guarantee recommendations, audience growth, or monetization. The vendor descriptions cited here establish workflow features, not algorithmic advantage or channel outcomes.
Cost and operational checks before you commit
- Match the plan to the schedule. Verify whether you need one loop, a playlist, timed scheduling, or live inserts, and whether that function is included on the plan.
- Calculate storage and bandwidth needs. Continuous playout can make resource ceilings more important than the headline price. Check storage, bandwidth, file size and duration, stream count, and destination count against your actual library and publishing plan.
- Compare billing periods honestly. Distinguish recurring monthly billing from annual billing equivalents and confirm the payment term and cancellation conditions on the current provider page.
- Budget for the remaining work. Cloud playout replaces the need to keep a local computer running for playback; it does not remove the need to prepare content, protect the stream key, test YouTube setup, or check the channel.
- Use a local PC only if local control is worth the trade-off. A PC-based encoder gives you direct control, but it conflicts with the no-local-PC requirement because the computer, software, and network must remain available for the stream.
Troubleshooting a cloud YouTube stream
The stream will not start
- Check that live streaming is enabled for the channel and that the stream or event is set up in YouTube Studio.
- Confirm that the destination, stream key, and selected event match. If you rotate or replace a key, update it in the cloud service.
- Check the provider’s file and plan limits; an unsupported file or unavailable 24/7 mode can prevent playout from starting.
The stream starts, then stops
- Check YouTube Studio for stream-status messages and confirm the event has not ended or been configured with an unintended stop time.
- Check the provider’s status and plan limits. A cloud service removes dependence on your home computer, but it does not make a stream immune to service, configuration, or YouTube interruptions.
- For StreamNeo, automatic recovery is included if YouTube drops the stream; still check the channel after an interruption to confirm the broadcast resumed as intended.
Video or audio is missing, wrong, or out of sequence
- Preview each file and verify the playlist order or schedule before launch. Confirm the selected source is the intended recording.
- Check whether a file exceeds the provider’s size or duration limit, or the available storage and bandwidth on the plan.
- Run a private test and inspect YouTube playback before making the event public.
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is for uploaded recordings and playlists streamed continuously to YouTube. Upload your video or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; each slot supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one price, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly: $9.99 per month.
