There is no proven best India VPS region for a 24/7 FFmpeg YouTube stream: the available listings establish locations and plan specifications, not comparative route quality or sustained streaming performance. Treat New Delhi’s Inservers listing and DigitalOcean’s Bangalore datacenter as candidates, then compare monthly data transfer, the CPU needs of your workload, checkout terms and the route to YouTube’s ingest endpoint. Test your actual stream before relying on it around the clock.
Which India VPS region should you choose?
Start with the region and plan that can meet your workload and monthly outbound-transfer needs, not the one that sounds closest to YouTube. Geography may affect latency, but without measuring the route from your VPS to the selected YouTube ingest endpoint, proximity is only a hypothesis. The available evidence does not establish a regional winner, independent latency comparison, sustained CPU guarantee or long-run FFmpeg benchmark.
These two listings are reasonable starting points, not performance recommendations:
| Candidate | Published listing | Potential fit | Confirm before buying |
|---|---|---|---|
| Inservers, New Delhi | Provider listing accessed 2026-10-04: ₹880/month starting listing, 2 vCores, 4 GB RAM, 40 GB NVMe and advertised 1 Gbps unmetered. The provider also lists IN-PRO at ₹1,800/month with 4 vCores and 8 GB for heavier tasks. | India-hosted VPS advertised for streaming, with stated unmetered bandwidth. | Actual fair-use and contract terms, whether continuous outbound RTMP/RTMPS is permitted, sustained CPU capacity, and the route to YouTube ingest. |
| DigitalOcean, Bangalore | Official pricing page accessed 2026-10-04: Basic at $18/month, 2 vCPUs, 2 GiB RAM, 60 GiB SSD and 3,000 GiB transfer. The page also lists a $24/month plan with 2 vCPUs, 4 GiB RAM and 4,000 GiB transfer. | A documented India location and published transfer allowances. | Plan and price availability at checkout, route quality to YouTube, sustained CPU results, and what happens if you exceed included transfer. |
Prices and plan terms can change; confirm the selected offer and renewal total at checkout. An advertised 1 Gbps interface and a monthly transfer allowance measure different things: the former is a link-speed figure, while the latter limits how much data can be sent over a billing period.

- 【USB 3.2 Gen2 Type‑C: 10Gbps & Versatile Connectivity】The USB 3.2 Gen2 Type‑C port on the KAMRUI P2 small pc supports 10Gbps data transfer speeds and can also output DisplayPort 1.4 video. Together with Gigabit LAN, Wi‑Fi, and Bluetooth, you get a fast, flexible, and productive connected environment – wired or wireless.
Calculate the monthly bandwidth before choosing a plan
For a stream that runs continuously, monthly transfer can matter more than peak port speed. YouTube’s current live encoder guidance recommends 14 Mbps for H.264 at 1080p30 and 17 Mbps at 1080p60. At a constant 14 Mbps, video payload alone is about 4.54 TB over 30 days, calculated as bitrate × 2,592,000 seconds ÷ 8. This estimate excludes audio and protocol overhead.
That makes the listed DigitalOcean Basic plan’s 3,000 GiB transfer allowance insufficient for a full 30 days at the 14 Mbps video-only rate. Its listed 4,000 GiB tier is also below that approximate payload estimate. Check how the provider counts transfer and what its overage or throttling policy is before committing. Inservers advertises unmetered transfer, but confirm the precise usage policy, port and account limits in the actual offer terms rather than treating the label as an unlimited-performance guarantee.
For your own estimate, add the audio bitrate to the video bitrate, then allow for protocol overhead. Multiply the resulting total bitrate in bits per second by 2,592,000 seconds and divide by 8 for decimal bytes over a 30-day month. Compare that estimate with the plan’s outbound allowance and post-cap policy.

Match the VPS to relay or transcode work
Relaying an already encoded stream
If your source is already encoded in the format and settings you intend to send, a stream-copy relay is primarily a network-transfer workload rather than a continuous video-encoding job. Test this path first when it fits your workflow. Do not buy a particular number of vCPUs based on a generic FFmpeg rule; the evidence does not establish one universal CPU requirement for a relay.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsEncoding or transcoding continuously
Re-encoding video continuously adds sustained CPU demand. The result depends on the source, codec, resolution, frame rate, encoder settings and command—not just the VPS’s advertised vCPU count. Inservers recommends higher tiers for transcoding than for a single relay, but that is provider guidance, not an independent benchmark.
Run your actual command with representative media and output settings before relying on the service. During a sustained test, check FFmpeg’s real-time speed, CPU use and signs of throttling or contention, dropped frames, memory, disk growth, transfer counters, and whether the process recovers after a disconnect. A short launch test does not establish that a VPS can encode reliably for weeks.

Configure and test the YouTube stream
- Choose the intended codec, resolution and frame rate. Use YouTube’s current recommended bitrate for that combination rather than treating one bitrate as suitable for every stream.
- Set the encoder for CBR and a two-second keyframe interval. YouTube recommends a two-second keyframe interval, not exceeding four seconds. Check the exact options for the encoder you use, since FFmpeg arguments vary by codec and workflow.
- Use RTMP or RTMPS for ingest. RTMPS encrypts the connection to and through Google’s servers. Keep your YouTube stream key private; anyone who obtains it may be able to send a stream to your channel.
- Test with representative content. YouTube advises testing before starting a live stream and testing upload bitrate. Include audio and motion similar to the actual program; a static or silent test may not expose the same bitrate and encoding issues.
- Watch YouTube stream health and VPS metrics together. Check for ingest warnings, dropped frames, audio problems, CPU pressure, memory use and transfer consumption. A successful FFmpeg connection alone does not show that viewers are receiving a healthy stream.
For setup and encoder-specific values, consult YouTube’s live encoder settings. The published recommendations can change, so check the current guidance for your selected codec and output format.
Keep the stream recoverable
A VPS can remain powered on while the FFmpeg process, network path or YouTube ingest connection fails. Configure a process restart or reconnect plan, and monitor both the server and YouTube’s stream health. Do not treat a provider’s uptime listing as proof that your application will recover from an encoder crash or ingest interruption.
- Confirm the VPS provider permits continuous outbound RTMP/RTMPS traffic.
- Ask whether “unmetered” has fair-use, port, or account limits, and how transfer overages or caps are handled.
- Make sure a restart does not expose your stream key in public logs or an unsecured script.
- Check disk growth if FFmpeg writes logs or temporary files, and make sure monitoring alerts you to a stopped process or unhealthy stream.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your source is prerecorded uploaded video and you would rather not administer an always-on VPS, StreamNeo is a managed option for looping uploaded videos to YouTube. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, then go live. It runs in the cloud, so nothing has to stay on at home; it supports uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly billing is $9.99 per month.

Copyright and channel-policy checks
A VPS or managed loop service does not grant rights to the video or audio you stream. Before scheduling a 24/7 program, confirm you have the necessary rights to every recording, music track, image and other included material. Repeatedly broadcasting prerecorded material also does not by itself guarantee monetization eligibility; review YouTube’s current channel monetization and reused-content rules for your channel and content.
Quick Recap
Troubleshoot common failures
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check or do |
|---|---|---|
| Stream starts but YouTube reports poor connection or dropped frames | Insufficient or unstable outbound capacity, congestion, or an output bitrate that is too high for the route. | Check VPS network metrics and YouTube stream health; verify the selected bitrate against YouTube’s guidance and test the VPS-to-ingest route. |
| FFmpeg runs slower than real time or frames are dropped during encoding | The chosen transcode settings exceed available sustained CPU, or the VPS is contended or throttled. | Test the actual command and source. Reduce encoding complexity or choose a plan that passes a sustained test; do not infer capacity from vCPU count alone. |
| Stream stops and does not resume | The FFmpeg process exited, the network or ingest connection dropped, or no restart/reconnect handling is configured. | Inspect process and service logs, configure supervised restart/reconnect behavior, then verify recovery in YouTube stream health. |
| Transfer usage climbs toward the cap faster than expected | The estimate omitted audio, protocol overhead, or the actual bitrate is higher than planned. | Measure total outbound traffic and compare with the provider’s transfer accounting and overage policy; revise the plan or output bitrate if appropriate. |
| Stream key authentication fails or a different broadcast appears | The wrong key may be configured, or the key may have been exposed or changed. | Verify the active YouTube key, update the VPS configuration securely, and rotate the key if exposure is suspected. |
