Realtor.com reported that the sale closed on July 24 at the asking price, citing TMZ for the buyer identification; the deed was not independently inspected for that report.
What was reported about the purchase?
Realtor.com reported on July 29, 2024, that Affleck bought the property in the Brentwood area for $20.5 million. The reported closing date was July 24, 2024, at the exact asking price. The story attributed the identification of Affleck as buyer to TMZ and said the agents representing the seller and buyer, Blair Chang and Santiago Arana, declined to comment. Realtor.com’s July 2024 report is secondary real-estate reporting, not confirmation based on an inspected deed.
A July 2026 report by The Real Deal also referred to Affleck buying a $20.5 million Brentwood bachelor home in 2024. That is subsequent secondary corroboration, rather than primary title evidence. The Real Deal’s 2026 report focused on a different property, the former marital estate.
What is known about the house?
Realtor.com described the home as a five-bedroom property on roughly two-thirds of an acre, with 6,247 square feet of interior space. According to the report, it was built in 1941 and designed by Cliff May, then reimagined by architect Steve Giannetti, with interiors by Kelly Harmon. These are details from real-estate reporting and listing-derived material, not a firsthand inspection of the house.

How firmly is Affleck’s ownership confirmed?
The available accounts identify Affleck as the buyer, but the reported identification traces to TMZ and has not been established here through direct review of the recorded deed. The Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk says real-estate records are indexed by grantor, grantee, and recording year, but its real-estate records and indexes are not available through an online search portal.

The county says deeds are public records in California. Records from 1958 onward can be reviewed at its Norwalk headquarters by appointment. Its access guidance is available at View Real Estate Records and its Real Estate Records FAQs. Without the deed itself, the careful wording remains that Affleck was reported to have bought the property.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is this the Beverly Hills home Affleck bought with Jennifer Lopez?
No. The Brentwood-area purchase reported in 2024 is separate from the Beverly Hills estate Affleck and Jennifer Lopez bought together in 2023. Realtor.com discussed both properties in its July 2024 story, but they should not be treated as the same home.
