Is the interview on Netflix?
No. Netflix is the home of Baby Reindeer, the seven-episode limited series that premiered on April 11, 2024. The Piers Morgan interview is not an episode of that series and should not be searched for within Netflix.
Netflix’s series dramatizes Richard Gadd’s account of a complicated personal experience involving stalking, sexual abuse and his own conduct. For accuracy, it is better to describe Harvey as the woman publicly identified as the alleged inspiration for Martha or the woman who appeared after being identified online as Baby Reindeer’s alleged real-life Martha. That wording matters because the show’s fictionalized narrative, Harvey’s denials and the legal proceedings do not amount to a final judicial determination of every underlying fact.

- denied stalking Richard Gadd;
- disputed substantial elements of the events depicted or described in Baby Reindeer;

Netflix’s own explanatory material describes the fictional Martha as stalking Donny and sending tens of thousands of emails and hundreds of hours of voice messages. Those details describe the dramatized Netflix narrative; they are not independent proof that each depicted event occurred exactly as shown.
What is the legal status?
In 2024, a California federal judge allowed parts of Harvey’s lawsuit against Netflix to proceed, including claims based on defamation and intentional infliction of emotional distress, while dismissing other claims. That was an early procedural decision. It did not determine that Harvey’s entire account was true, that every part of Netflix’s depiction was false, or that Harvey was legally established as Martha.
Netflix appealed the district court’s anti-SLAPP ruling in Ninth Circuit case 24-6151, connected with district-court case 2:24-cv-04744-RGK-AJR. The public docket and briefing reviewed for this guide showed the appeal process, but did not establish a final Ninth Circuit merits decision or final trial judgment. The legal position may change as the case proceeds.
