Avengers: Secret Wars was originally scheduled to open in theaters on November 7, 2025. It did not release that day: Disney later moved it, first to May 7, 2027, and a November 2025 report placed it on December 17, 2027. That December date is the latest one found here, but Disney’s July 2026 schedule update did not restate it.
What was the original release date for Avengers: Secret Wars?
Marvel Studios announced the November 7, 2025 theatrical date at San Diego Comic-Con on July 23, 2022. The announcement positioned Secret Wars as the second of two Avengers films intended to conclude the Multiverse Saga, following Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. Disney’s 2022 announcement records that original plan.
So “supposed to release today” refers to the original schedule, not a movie that was released, completed, or made available to stream on November 7, 2025.
When is Avengers: Secret Wars coming out now?
The latest date located is December 17, 2027, reported by ComicBook.com on November 7, 2025. Treat it as the latest reported date, not a newly reconfirmed Disney announcement. Disney’s July 25, 2026 San Diego Comic-Con update restated Avengers: Doomsday’s December 18, 2026 date but did not give a date for Secret Wars.

What is confirmed about the film?
Disney named Anthony and Joe Russo as directors in its March 2025 announcement. The official sources cited here do not establish a complete Secret Wars cast or plot. Names announced for Avengers: Doomsday should not be treated as a confirmed cast list for Secret Wars.
The original 2022 plan described Secret Wars and The Kang Dynasty as the pair concluding the Multiverse Saga. Because the schedule and the preceding film’s title changed, that original framing should be understood as the announced plan at that time, rather than a complete account of the films’ current story or release order.
