When does Avengers: Doomsday come out?
Disney Movies currently lists Avengers: Doomsday for an exclusive theatrical release on December 18, 2026. That is the current U.S. studio listing; it is not an international release-date guide. Disney’s page also includes an official trailer and a ticket-on-sale spot. See Disney’s official film listing.
The date has changed since the film was first announced. Disney’s March 26, 2025 announcement gave May 1, 2026 as the planned date, but that schedule was superseded by the current listing. Disney’s original announcement is useful for casting history, not the current date.
Who is in the Avengers: Doomsday cast?
Disney’s current film page names the following ensemble. The separate Disney+ guide also names Hayley Atwell and says additional cast and character details remain a mystery, so the confirmed list should not be treated as exhaustive. The size of the ensemble does not establish how much screen time any performer will receive.

Who is Robert Downey Jr. playing?
Downey plays Doctor Doom, not Tony Stark, according to Disney+. The guide describes Victor von Doom as Latveria’s monarch and a master of sorcery and technology, with a rich history with the Fantastic Four. It explicitly says no connection between Doom and Tony Stark has been confirmed. Any claim that Doom is a Stark variant or otherwise related to Tony is speculation, not established film information.

Disney’s official synopsis says heroes from three distinct universes will be set on a deadly collision course and face an existential threat. Disney+ frames the film as the beginning of the Multiverse Saga’s final chapter and says it lays a foundation for the MCU’s future. The synopsis does not reveal the full plot, specific battles, deaths, cameos or ending; those details have not been confirmed in the official descriptions.
Disney+ identifies Doomsday as the fifth official Marvel Studios Avengers movie, following The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Its Marvel collection is presented as an optional catch-up route rather than a prerequisite: Disney says viewers can jump in without watching earlier Marvel shows or movies.

Who is directing it, and what has been said about production?
Anthony and Joe Russo are directing. In an Associated Press interview published September 2, 2026, Joe Russo described their approach to scripts this way: “We always view the script as a living organism.” The interview characterizes the filmmakers as improvisation- and rehearsal-based directors; the remark describes their process, not a plot reveal. When will Avengers: Doomsday stream on Disney+?
Disney+ says the movie will eventually stream on the service, but it has not announced a streaming date. No specific window should be treated as confirmed until Disney publishes one.
