If you mean Unexpected stars Chloe Mendoza and Max Schenzel, no: they are former partners, and reports place their breakup in early 2020. More recent entertainment coverage still describes them as separated, but the available reports do not include a fresh direct confirmation from either person.
Which Chloe and Max does this refer to?
The names are ambiguous. This article is about Chloe Mendoza and Max Schenzel, the former couple featured on TLC’s Unexpected. They are real people whose relationship status has been covered by entertainment outlets. If you meant Max Caulfield and Chloe Price from Life Is Strange, those are fictional characters, and their story is shaped by player choices.

When did Chloe Mendoza and Max Schenzel break up?
Entertainment coverage places their split in early 2020. On February 22, 2020, Starcasm reported that Chloe said in a video, “me and Max are not together right now.” That is a statement about their status at the time, not a current update. Starcasm’s February 2020 report and The Cinemaholic’s relationship timeline provide the historical context.
What do the latest reports say?
September 2026 coverage describes Chloe and Max as split. A separate report published July 15, 2026, says Max announced a new girlfriend. These are secondary entertainment reports about the couple and Max’s reported announcement; they do not amount to a new direct statement from Chloe or Max confirming their shared relationship status. The September 2026 roundup and the July 2026 report are the basis for those updates.

- Locked away for decades, ClassicFlix brings the first 13 episodes of a rare suspense anthology series to DVD in The Unexpected.
What if you meant the Life Is Strange characters?
Max Caulfield and Chloe Price are characters from the Life Is Strange games, not the Unexpected couple. Their relationship is fictional and can vary with choices in the game, so there is no single real-world status update that answers whether they are “still together.” A January 2026 retrospective about one writer’s Double Exposure playthrough describes that individual experience rather than a universal outcome for all players. Gayming Magazine’s retrospective discusses the game context.
