No confirmed casting announcement established that Ashley Michelle and Manuel are joining another 90 Day Fiancé show. The claim came from a 2024 entertainment-news theory: after Ashley asked to visit Manuel’s family in Ecuador, CinemaBlend writer Mick Joest speculated that the trip could be filmed for a future season of The Other Way or Happily Ever After?.
Where the new-show speculation came from
On August 26, 2024, while season 6 of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way was airing, CinemaBlend published an opinion piece about Ashley and Manuel’s possible next chapter. It was not a TLC or network casting announcement. Joest raised the possibility of another spinoff based on the couple’s storyline, rather than reporting that filming or casting had been confirmed. Why Ecuador prompted the theory
In the account described by CinemaBlend, by the end of the season 8 tell-all Ashley was more accepting of Manuel sending money to his home country. She asked to meet the people receiving it and wanted Manuel to take her to Ecuador to visit his family. Joest suggested that a camera crew might follow that trip, making it a potential storyline for a later season.
The visit was the concrete reason for the speculation, but the possibility of a crew joining them was the writer’s inference. The article did not establish that a trip had been filmed or that the couple had signed on to a show.

Which spinoff did CinemaBlend suggest?
The article discussed two possible paths, neither of which it presented as confirmed:
| Possibility | What the theory was based on | Status in the August 2024 article |
|---|---|---|
| 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way | A storyline involving Ashley traveling to Ecuador to meet Manuel’s family; the show follows relationships shaped by an American partner going abroad. | Speculation about a future season. Season 6 was airing at the time, so the article was discussing a later season, not an imminent appearance. |
| 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? | The couple’s ongoing relationship and an Ecuador visit could potentially be covered as a later chapter in their story. | Also presented as a possibility, not a confirmed casting decision. |
The franchise’s history of featuring American partners abroad gave Joest context for his The Other Way idea, but it did not provide evidence that Ashley and Manuel had been cast.

Have Ashley and Manuel since been confirmed for a show?
The available information here does not establish their subsequent casting status. The 2024 article should therefore be understood as a fan-facing media theory, not proof that the couple later joined either spinoff. A confirmed announcement would need to come from TLC, the network, or another reliable report explicitly documenting their casting.
