Update: The Apple TV Black Friday promotion reported on November 22, 2025, was real—but it was a historical offer, not a deal currently confirmed as live. It offered new and eligible returning U.S. subscribers Apple TV for $5.99 per month for six months, compared with the then-standard $12.99 monthly price. Apple’s U.S. signup page now shows a seven-day free trial followed by $12.99 per month.
The promotion applied to the Apple TV streaming subscription, not an Apple TV 4K device. The original report was published by AppleInsider on November 22, 2025, which disclosed its affiliate relationship.
The Apple TV Black Friday deal in numbers
| Term | Promotion | Regular equivalent |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly price | $5.99 | $12.99 |
| Six-month cost | $35.94 | $77.94 |
| Total saving | $42 | |
| Effective discount | Approximately 53.9% | |
Calling the offer “over 50% off” was mathematically accurate. Six months at $5.99 totaled $35.94, while six months at $12.99 totaled $77.94. That made the saving $42, or roughly 53.9%.
However, the discount was temporary. It did not establish a permanent Apple TV price, and the original coverage did not promise that the offer would remain available indefinitely.

Is the $5.99 offer still live?
There is no evidence in the reviewed official Apple page that the November 2025 promotion is still available. The latest price signal in the research, checked August 18, 2026, is Apple’s U.S. offer of seven days free followed by $12.99 per month. Check Apple’s official U.S. signup page before subscribing, because promotional pricing can change and may be targeted by account or region.
Do not complete checkout expecting $5.99 unless Apple explicitly displays $5.99 per month for six months in the offer or checkout screen. A page that still carries “now live” wording may be describing the original November 2025 availability rather than the current offer.
What the subscription includes—and what it does not
Apple TV is Apple’s subscription streaming service. Apple describes it as offering hundreds of Apple Original shows and movies, with new releases each week. The service can also include selected sports programming, such as Friday Night Baseball, and Apple currently promotes Formula 1 and Major League Soccer content for U.S. viewers beginning in 2026. See Apple’s service overview for the current description.
The subscription is not a pass to everything visible inside the Apple TV app. The app is also a storefront and aggregation point for:
- Third-party subscription channels.
- Movies and shows available to rent or buy separately.
- Other streaming services that can be accessed through the app.
Those items may require separate subscriptions, rentals, or purchases. The Apple TV app and Apple TV subscription are related, but they are not interchangeable terms.
Apple TV, the app, and Apple TV 4K are different products
Deal headlines often use “Apple TV” ambiguously. In this promotion, the product was the streaming subscription.

Who qualified for the 2025 promotion?
The original deal report said the offer was available to new subscribers and eligible returning subscribers. It excluded existing active subscribers and subscriptions billed through third-party providers.

Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
“Eligible returning subscriber” does not necessarily mean every former customer. Eligibility can depend on the Apple Account, the timing of a previous subscription, and the billing relationship. The offer shown after signing in is more reliable than assuming that a past subscriber automatically qualifies.
Common reasons the offer may not appear
- You already have an active Apple TV subscription.
- Your subscription is managed or billed by another company or platform.
- You are signed in with a different Apple Account from the one associated with your prior subscription.
- Your Apple Account or storefront is outside the U.S.
- You are a former subscriber but do not meet the promotion’s undisclosed returning-customer criteria.
Apple Community discussions from November 2025 documented user questions about eligibility and locating the offer, but those conversations are practical user reports—not definitive Apple policy. See the discussions at Apple Community thread 256199995 and Apple Community thread 256198962.
How to verify a similar Apple TV promotion
If Apple brings back a comparable Black Friday offer, use this verification process:
- Open the official U.S. Apple TV signup page.
- Sign in with the Apple Account you intend to use.
- Review the offer card or checkout price.
- Confirm that it says $5.99 per month for six months—or verify whatever promotional terms Apple currently advertises.
- Check the renewal price and the date on which regular billing begins.
- Confirm that the subscription is billed directly by Apple if direct-billing eligibility is required.
- Save the confirmation email or a record of the displayed terms.
- Set a reminder during the fifth month if you plan to reassess or cancel.
Apple may present different labels and controls on the web, iPhone, smart TV, or third-party streaming-device apps. Treat the final checkout screen and confirmation details as controlling evidence.

What happens after six months?
The promotional rate was temporary. If the subscription continued, it would renew at the applicable standard monthly price. The deal coverage used $12.99 per month as the regular rate, and Apple’s U.S. page currently also shows $12.99 per month after its seven-day trial.
Using those figures, the first six months would cost $35.94. The following six months at $12.99 would cost $77.94, before taxes or any later price change. In other words, the attractive introductory price should not be mistaken for a six-month subscription that ends automatically.
Set a reminder before the sixth month ends if you do not want recurring charges. Cancellation timing and continued access can vary by platform, so check the cancellation terms shown in your account rather than relying on an assumed final-day deadline.
Is Apple TV worth subscribing to?
It is a strong fit if you:
- Want several Apple Originals and can watch them within a few months.
- Plan to follow Formula 1 or MLS in the U.S. during the relevant 2026 programming period.
- Prefer a month-to-month service rather than a long annual commitment.
- Are a new or eligible returning subscriber.
- Will remember to reassess before the regular price resumes.
It is a weaker fit if you:
- Already have an active Apple TV subscription.
- Pay through a third-party provider and need Apple’s direct promotion.
- Want the broadest possible catalog of licensed movies and television shows.
- Only want one series and can obtain access through a trial or short subscription period.
- Live outside the U.S. and expect the same price, catalog, or sports rights.
Apple TV’s value is concentrated in its exclusive originals and selected sports rights, not in replacing every general-purpose streaming service. For a viewer who wants a focused six-month run of Apple content, the historical $5.99 offer was excellent. For someone seeking a single service with the widest overall catalog, the regular price deserves more comparison.
Should you consider Apple One?
Apple One may be worth comparing if you already pay separately for Apple services such as Apple Music, iCloud+, or Apple Arcade. Its value depends on which bundled services you would genuinely use. Do not choose it solely because Apple TV is included; a standalone subscription is likely simpler for viewers who want Apple TV alone.
Apple One pricing and availability can change, so compare the current bundle price and services displayed by Apple before switching. The $5.99 Black Friday promotion itself was a standalone streaming offer, not proof that a bundle would be cheaper.

What to do if you see $12.99 instead of the promotional price
Do not proceed on the assumption that the discount will be applied later. Check the following:
- That you are signed in with the intended Apple Account.
- That your storefront and account region are U.S.-based for the U.S. promotion.
- That you do not have an active subscription.
- That billing is not being handled through a third party.
- That the promotion has not expired or been withdrawn.
If the promotional terms are not displayed explicitly, the safest conclusion is that the offer is unavailable for that account at that time. Save any confirmation details if you do successfully claim a future promotion.

Was the Apple TV Black Friday deal real?
Yes. AppleInsider reported on November 22, 2025, that new and eligible returning U.S. subscribers could pay $5.99 per month for six months. It applied to the streaming subscription, not Apple TV 4K hardware.
How much did the Apple TV promotion save?
Six months at $5.99 cost $35.94 instead of $77.94 at $12.99 per month. The total saving was $42, or approximately 53.9%.
Can existing Apple TV subscribers claim the deal?
The original report excluded existing active subscribers. Returning subscribers were eligible only if Apple considered their accounts eligible, so the checkout offer—not a general assumption—determines eligibility.
What does Apple TV cost after the promotion?
The promotion was temporary. Apple’s U.S. signup page currently lists seven days free followed by $12.99 per month, although future pricing may change.
