Among the selected highlights: Tokyo Revengers Season 4 was confirmed, Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc got a Japanese theatrical release date, and My Dress-Up Darling Season 2 was set for July. The event also included stages with no new production update for every featured title, so an appearance alone is not an announcement.
AnimeJapan 2025 at a glance
The public exhibition ran March 22–23, 2025, at Tokyo Big Sight’s East Exhibition Halls 1–8, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. JST, with last admission at 4:30 p.m. Business days followed March 24–25 in the Tokyo Big Sight Conference Tower: 10 a.m.–6 p.m. on March 24 and 10 a.m.–5 p.m. on March 25. The organizer’s event outline lists the dates, venues and hours.
The AnimeJapan Organization described the 12th edition as having 116 exhibitors, 52 stage events across four AJ stages, and an estimated 152,400 visitors—115% of the previous year’s attendance. It said roughly one in ten visitors came from overseas. These are organizer-reported figures; the visitor total was an estimate, not an independently verified count. Family Anime Festa occupied East Hall 8 during the public days, with family-oriented booths and programming. The event-close announcement gives the aggregate figures.
Selected anime announcements
The updates below are selected highlights from event coverage, not a complete official announcement ledger. Anime Atelier’s March 23 live recap was later organized as a roundup. The type of news matters: a production confirmation, an exact release date, a trailer, and a visual are different kinds of updates.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Sequels, seasons and production news
- Tokyo Revengers: Season 4 production was confirmed with a teaser visual. A fifth-anniversary event was also announced for June 22, 2025.
- My Hero Academia: The final season was announced for October 2025, accompanied by a teaser visual. The recap said Crunchyroll would stream it.

Release date and visual reveals
- Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc: Its Japanese theatrical release date was announced as September 19, 2025, at the WHITE Stage.
- Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Walpurgisnacht – Rising: The film’s first key visual was revealed.
- Moonrise: Netflix’s stage presentation unveiled a trailer and key art ahead of the series’ April 10, 2025 release, along with additional voice cast.
Other selected updates—and a stage without one
The live recap also reported new visuals, trailers, cast members, theme-song details and premiere windows for titles including Clevatess, I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince, Kowloon Generic Romance, Summer Pockets, Sakamoto Days, Fate/strange Fake, Sentenced to Be a Hero and City.
Not every appearance yielded fresh production news. At The Apothecary Diaries stage, the cast performed a live reading, but the recap reported no update to the ongoing second season. That distinction is useful when sorting the event’s stage appearances from its actual announcements.

What Netflix presented
Netflix’s own AnimeJapan 2025 recap reported that its presentation included the new Moonrise trailer, key art and cast announcements; images from BEASTARS: Final Season Part 2, which was anticipated; a July 2025 window for My Melody & Kuromi; and a trailer for The Summer Hikaru Died. A lineup video also included Fire Force Season 3, Record of Ragnarok III, Leviathan and The Summer Hikaru Died.
Netflix’s March 24 business seminar brought together Kaata Sakamoto, Netflix Vice President of Content for Japan; Kotaro Yoshikawa, TMS Entertainment Senior Vice President of Sales; and Manabu Otsuka, MAPPA president, to discuss anime’s global reach and industry strategy. Yoshikawa said, “By making our titles available on Netflix, we can instantly distribute them to over 190 countries.” That is Yoshikawa’s description as quoted in Netflix’s recap, not an independently audited measurement.

How the event worked for visitors
AnimeJapan combined exhibitor booths with stage presentations, live performances and talk events. Seats for AJ stages were assigned through a lottery; a regular admission ticket alone did not provide stage seating. The official stage page describes the program format, while the 2025 quick guide explains the stage-lottery requirement.
Some stage programs were livestreamed, but availability and archive duration varied by program and platform. The event archive does not establish that all 52 stages streamed or that every recording remains available. The 2025 visitor guide also set rules for cosplay areas, changing clothes, booth photography and recording at stages; those were rules for that edition, not current guidance for a future event.

Merchandise and collectibles
The official 2025 catalogue listed items such as randomly designed tin badges, acrylic stand charms, apparel, towels and tote bags, as well as anime collaborations with traditional crafts. Some were identified as event-exclusive or available through the event’s official store. The catalogue establishes acrylic stand charms as a relevant anime collectible category; it does not establish that the specific 2025 goods are currently available on Amazon.
For broader browsing, anime acrylic stands are a general collectible category. The marketplace link does not guarantee stock of AnimeJapan merchandise.
